UK School VS Regionally Accredited US School

Just throwing out there, a Phd from Liberty could possibly be a hindrance when looking for teaching positions at many institutions that may be more of a liberal progressive bent. Personally, I think that all should be more open to different views, and they sure all say they are but in practice.. yeah not so much.

Certificate for the Study of Capitalism at University of Arkansas finished July 2022

MBA with Hellenic American University started March 29th, 2021 , finished May 20th 2022, Graduated in June 2022

BSBA at Thomas Edison State University started May 21st 2020 with Sophia and SDC, finished Jan 24th, 2021, Graduated on 12 March of 2021

Total time to complete both degrees 2 years exactly, total cost just a small bit over $10,000

Thanks Degreeforum!

I have neighbors who work in the administration of a college in town. Liberty is not well regarded in their circle. Their circle includes several other colleges in the region as well. Liberty has a reputation. That is something to consider when wanting a career in academia. Liberty is in the news for all of the wrong things lately as well.

If I was in your situation and looking at a specific Business or Communications program, I would recommend a PhD vs a DBA program.  PhD is academic/research inclined and the DBA is more applied/professional - you can still teach, but generally at the Community College or undergraduate level... For myself, I don't get any tuition assistance/reimbursement from work, so I go the cheapest/easiest/fastest option.  For you, I suggest a local school first, then choose a state/non-for profit, and lastly, if needed, a foreign or for profit school. Yes, good point.  Definitely something to consider if I teach elsewhere on the future.  Truth be told, where I live probably 95% of people here haven’t heard of either school!  Still something to consider.

Yes, agreed.  They are always in the news.  It is sort of crazy.

Thank you!  I totally agree.  I am only considering PhD programs now.  Options are less unfortunately.  DBA programs seem to be everywhere now!
