UCLA Extension Post-MBA $1,900

I just got word that UCLA Extension's post-MBA program will launch January 2022.  It's $1,900 total for 10 short courses (5 required and 5 electives).

It's basically an MBA refresher program for those who got their MBAs years ago.  Lots of interesting courses.  I am seriously considering it because I can reimburse it as part of my company benefits.  
Also, a "Post-MBA" qualification from UCLA will probably look good on a resume.  

Just remember that it's not UCLA, it's UCLA Extension (different part of the school, pretty common now to find these but you're not a UCLA grad when you come out); and they're not grad-level credits, so it's not necessarily something you can put on your resume.

I would also check your reimbursement policy to make sure that they will count.  RA school but credits that aren't RA may not work - these are maybe CEU's which aren't always reimbursable.

With a certificate you would be a UCLA alum.

Ok - but you can't put that you got your certificate from UCLA, you have to say UCLA Extension.  Different things.  If you meet someone who went to UCLA and say "I got a certificate through UCLA Extension", they will not think "oh, this guy went to my school."  They will scoff.  They will not consider you an equal.

Not saying it's not worth doing, but it's definitely not "UCLA."

I wouldn’t worry about that persons insecurities. They probably spent 100k on a worthless sociology degree and use pronouns in their email address.

It is accurate to say UCLA Extension on your resume. They have a lot of cool certificates you can take. As far as the people scoffing, screw them. Your entire personality should not be wrapped up in the prestigiousness of your school. You should rest on the laurels of your achievements and abilities.

I had dinner in Rwanda with a man who had founded a charitable organization in Africa and his son. All the son talked about was what private school he went to in Texas and the gated community where he lived in Dallas. It was obnoxious and disgusting considering the whole point of the trip was to bring economic empowerment to the needy. Screw that guy. Don’t ever be like him.

In other news, I actually still have my heart set on the UCSD Extension Copyeditor certificate. They have a great little program there if you are in the editing field, or need to show that you have the skills, etc.

That would honestly be my next move after my BA. I don’t need grad school at this point in my career, but I’d love that credential.
