Yea, it's me again.
Greetings to all of you oracles of distance learning. As always, your wisdom is sought.
Has anyone transferred credits from Penn Foster to TESC? If so, how were the courses at PF? I'm looking into Music Appreciation and Art Aprreciation. Are the books needed? Are there an online resources provided by Penn Foster College, such as, live lectures, practice exams, etc. In short, what's the skinny on courses at Penn Foster College?
Thanks in advance.

I took about 60 credits at Penn Foster College, which we're all ACE reviewed. Make sure when you take a Penn Foster College course, that it holds ACE accreditation or TESC will not accept it. I took Art Appreciation, Penn Foster will give you the book with the course so you don't have to worry about purchasing it somewhere. Art Appreciation is not that hard of a class but it was a bit tricky but I did pass at the end of the day. I don't remember any live lectures and practice exams. However, the test weren't proctored for that course when I took it, they we're just online. I took the course in 2010 so I don't know how much things changed..

Hi Ace_King! You might be able to benefit from talking with other students about their experiences with Penn Foster programs at our Student Community or on our Facebook pages. Here's the link for the Penn Foster Community, where you can talk with students and alumni about our programs, read blog posts related to different courses and more:

And here's the link to our Facebook page:

I hope that helps, and please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Good luck!

I took Art Appreciation in 2011 from Penn Foster; I thought it was relatively easy (and I'm not an Art person). It was simple to transfer the credits to TESC through ACE; just set up an account with ACE, choose the course to transfer, choose TESC to transfer it to and you're done. I highly recommend PF as a testing alternative. Good luck!
