Hello.
Ok, I had an AA from a community college and decided to finish at Eastern Kentucky online (because they had an Appalachian Lit series I wanted to get into) for $400/hr. I need 24 UL to graduate but $9600 is more than I want to pay. Only 6 of the credits must be from EKU. It's a Gen Ed degree and at this point I can take anything I want as long as it's UL.
I saw on this thread:
http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...edits.html there were UL maths at edX- that will help.
Where else can I look for UL classes so I can call them next week and see what they will accept.
Programs like SL's where you pay a fee (even if it's larger than their's) and work as fast as you can would work well.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Amy

ALEKS has 6 credits UL in statistics. It's only $20 a month until you complete their assessment. Will they accept ACE recommend courses?

http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...edits.html - Post #2 starts a long list, you can look at each one to see which courses are UL. Unfortunately though, even if ACE recommends them as UL, or other colleges take them as UL, YOUR college gets to make their own decision about that. So, check with EKU to see not only which courses they'll accept, but which of those courses are UL. This list is mostly ACE-approved courses (3 Saylor courses are NCCRS-approved instead)
Also, would it make more sense to just take the courses you want to take at EKU, and transfer those to one of the Big 3 instead? Just a thought, I have no idea what your overall goals are.

My son is an on campus student at EKU and they did not accept his ALEKS credits, although they do accept some ACE credits. I would definitely check before you take anything, to make sure they will accept it. Their website has the CLEP and DSST info on it. Good luck!

According to the testing section of EKU's website, they will accept the following exams for 15 hours of UL credit:
CLEP American Literature (50) 3 hours EKU ENG 350 or ENG 351
CLEP English Literature (50) 3 hours EKU ENG 352 or ENG 353
CLEP Principles of Management (50) 3 hours EKU MGT 300
CLEP Principles of Marketing (50) 3 hours EKU MKT 300
DANTES/ DSST Intro to World Religions (48) 3 hours EKU REL 301
Academic Testing | Academic Testing | Eastern Kentucky University
Also, the Abnormal Psychology TECEP transfers as PSY 308.
And if you don't mind paying a bit more, the Excelsior UExcel exam PHIX-310 Bioethics transfers as EKU PHI 383; and
UExcel BUSX-315 Organizational Behavior transfers as EKU MGT 480 Organization Behavior, according to EKU's transfer lookup tool.
That covers 24 hours of EKU upper level credit through testing. Good luck!
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

Thank you for that! When I looked at it before, it didn't seem like much- but when you say it I'm thinking "why aren't I doing this?!" That would save me $4800 (actually about 4400 considering the cost of the test) (since I already have World Religions.) wow.
sometimes you just need to see things from someone else's eyes.
