Transcript Review - Help, which of the big 3?

Darn, two-timing Carl.

Seriously, it's weird. E-mails are sent to me even though it's been a month or so since I took an exam.

Westerner Wrote:I get emails from Carl too Wink Since I applied to TESC, I've kept testing and and a few days/weeks after I took each test, I'd get an email from him saying my transcripts were received Smile

They have a list of all the transcripts they've received but Carl has only emailed me once, and it was about a week after the system showed they received it. Very strange processes over there at TESC...

I finally got my Eval from TESC! It had been over 6 weeks since I initially applied and over 5 weeks since they received CC transcripts. I had emailed them a couple weeks ago inquiring about the status and was told it takes 20-25 business days. Yesterday I sent them another email telling them it had now been over 25 business days since they received my transcripts and low and behold now today I see my eval has been updated. My recommendation is figure out 25 business days from when they show they received all of your transcripts and then pester them once that date passes. They took care of it and resolved the ticket.

Overall things look really good but I do have a couple items I would like some direction on. They used everyone on of my credits except for "Community College - MTH 030 Elementary Algebra" which I expected because is is an under 100 class. This leaves me with 45 credits to go at this point, some of which (Strategic Management and Business Law) are already well underway.

The way they arranged my classes if now opens me up for 6 credits needed in the "General Educ Elects" area. Can I simply take and fill these with FEMA credits? I also have 3 credits needed in the "Free Electives" section of my transcript. Can I also fill these with FEMA credits?

It looks like I need to take both Financial and Managerial Accounting so I'll be searching the forums for the easiest way to get through that. Otherwise I also need to knock out 15 of the 18 specilization credits and 6 of the 9 Business Electivies credits.

If I recall correctly, FEMAs can only be used to fill Free Electives. I'd recommend the fairly easy "Social Sciences and History" CLEP to fill your 6 Gen Ed electives.

With the exception of the AAS in ESST and BS in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, FEMAs can only be used as free electives.

Sounds like I can use FEMA for my remaining 3 Free Electives but will need to use another source for my remaining 6 Gen Ed Electives.

How do I go about getting TESC to update my plan with the DSST/CLEP/ACE credits I plan to earn? Can I do that now or do I need to pay up first?

Also, how do I go ahead and pay when I'm ready? I've got my Eval now but I don't know where to go to get registered.

Penn Foster offer both the accounting classes about $225 each and at your own pace. OR Straighterline as well.

TESC will do two evaluations before you enroll. Just request another one when you're ready. You can't ask them to plan credits you haven't taken until you enroll.

You enroll using this form.

It's found here.

I got the first 2 evaluations, then after I enrolled, TESC automatically updated my plan with everything I'd sent in since then. After I had my call with an Academic Advisor, she updated it again and filled in all the slots with planned credits.

You can use ALEKS intermediate Algebra for another 3 credits on your general electives if it's not a duplicate (MAT-115) if your really good at math then go for the precalculus ALEKS (MAT-129) as well. Also DSST Intro to World Religions is a fun study and an easy 3 credit hours.

I don't believe they will update your plan anymore unless it is a TESC course or TECEP exam. You just have to have faith that it will fall in line where you think using other's experience. I tried to get them to add Business Ethics and Society DSST after I passed it as a "planned" course as an enrolled student and was told by the advisor they no longer do that.

Keep at it, you are making some great progress!
