Interesting story related to the math program at Great Basin.

This article has errors.

For instance Allen college isn't $2070/yr.  That's roughly the cost of just 1 semester at 15 credits.
I highly doubt tuition doubled between March 2017 (the month the article was published) and June the month Allen published it's current tuition rates.  lol

Secondly, although I'm not sure I'm 100% correct, I could not find on Albany's site where they actually offer any online programs.  Although, I did not spend too much time looking.

Also, the title "Top 20 Most Valuable Associate’s Degree Programs Online" is just clickbait.  This list is of 20 colleges with the cheapest tuition (that they found).  The article has nothing to do with "most valuable degrees".   Besides, cheap and valuable are not synonymous.  Not saying these schools and their programs have no value, but the article would have you think that cheap tuition and valuable degree program are the same thing.  Not by a long shot.

But it's a decent list as long as you verify the info in it and just want a starter list of cheap tuition colleges to start looking at.

New Mexico Jr College only asks $64 per credit up to 12 credits, no charge after 12- it's unlimited -not that a normal person would take many more than 4 per term, but if you did, you could really get the costs down.  I did 1 semester during my BA where I did 21 credits (2 colleges) but they were overlapped start/stop so it was really just a few weeks of hell Wink  But, 7 classes (21 cr) would only be $768.

That is pretty cheap.  Of course, there is a $40 per course fee for online courses which translates to over $10/credit for a 3 credit course.

Also, I don't know what a "General Usage Fee" is but that's another $18/credit.

Who knows what some of the lab and exam fees they charge are.

But my guess is it's still cheap when compared to most when it's all said and done.

Clovis CC is pretty cheap - that's in NM, too.  $121/cr or $81/cr if you take 18 credits in one semester.  That's out-of-state tuition and includes tech fee per credit.
Senior citizens only pay $10/cr Big Grin
