Took Intro To Sociology Today
#1
I studied IC for the last 5 days and took the test today. I feel I passed it but I'd say about 30% of the material was not covered by IC. Overall I think it was a pass, and since DANTES/CLEPs are either pass/fail, I'm not too concerned with the overall scores; my upcoming ECE exams are a different matter altogether. I take A&I Lit Thursday and am doing the Peterson’s practice CLEPs for it now. More to come as the rest of my 5 test results come; it's now been 5 weeks and I have yet to receive one score...... Lee

I take it that this was not a computer based test giving you instant results, that sucks.

I have used IC for nearly all of my exams and have always played it safe by using some form of supplemental study - REA, Comex, Pass-Your-Class, plus standard deviant videos JUST IN CASE.

Afterall, who wants to go through this journey twice when once will do - not me.

Good luck on your upcoming exams!!

Hi Lee,

My heart goes out to you for having waited five weeks for your scores. I can barely handle a 2-3 week wait.

Regarding Instantcert, if 30% was NOT covered then I assume that 70% WAS covered. To me, that is a pretty accurate study guide, considering the vastness of each subject and all the potential questions that could be asked on any given exam.

Remember, the goal of Instantcert is only to get you to the point where you will likely PASS the exam. For this reason, I agree with ShotoJuku: It is always to your advantage to access additional resources wherever possible.

However, since Sociology is a pass/fail exam, I feel pretty confident in saying that it is unlikely you will have failed, as long as you knew the info covered in Instantcert. Certainly if you knew the answer to 70% of the questions, that would result in a passing score. Add to that, the fact that you have a one in five (20%) chance of answering the remaining questions correctly just by guessing, and I expect that your long wait for the results will be WELL WORTH IT!

I do hope you get some scores soon. The 'not knowing' is awful, isn't it?

Best of luck,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob

At the risk of sounding uneducated, it really blows to have to wait this long. hilarious

I too agree, IC is a great resource, but it always pays to do a bit more research. I wasn't sweating this one too much because of the excellent feedback from this forum. I think I’m more worried about Thursday's test because of the lack of study materials. I’m taking the tests now and if I feel I’m not ready I can always reschedule for next week. As several of you have already mentioned: The next test is always harder than the one you just took.

Thanks again for all of your very interesting and educational inputs to this forum. Lee
