Everyone complains about their major. Accounting majors say that the only good jobs are with the big accounting firms and that they only recruit from the top schools. Computer science majors say that their programming jobs are being outsourced to India or that they have to compete with people coming in on HB-1 visas. 43% of new nursing grads can't find a job within 18 months. There is an overabundance of law school grads and many are competing for paralegal jobs. Chemistry and biology majors complain that they can't find any full-time jobs that pay more than $11/hr without having a graduate degree.

I think you should find out the top 5 fields that most fit your personality and interests. You can take a few online tests and compare the results. Most majors are useful if you have a plan and know whether or not you'll need an advanced degree. Psychology, for example, will have a lot of growth; but, you need a master's degree to become a counselor and a doctorate to become a psychologist.

Business administration and business management are soft majors. They are the general studies degrees of the business world. As the most popular major in the country, they are dime a dozen. Business administration and management majors are probably in the lower third when it comes to IQ and graduate entrance exam scores, so it's not a difficult major. They are in the middle of the pack when it comes to salary. Business degrees do have much flexibility, but there is a lot of competition and you'll have to compete with higher-ranked and AACSB-accredited schools. For business, I think it is best to specialize in something such as accounting or finance. Business admin and managment majors have similar unemployment rates to psychology majors. Business majors have a higher salary potential than psychology majors, though.

I also recommend BLS.gov to see which occupations have the most openings and the highest growth rates. For me, I'd rather make $30k a year than be an accountant or computer programmer. I took one programming course and it was torture.

Thanks for the feedback.... Hope it keeps coming... I just looked into the new requirements and I think I have most of them anyways... So now I'm not feeling the stress to make a quick decision. So with my Straighterline courses I will continue with macro/micro , acct 101, acct 102....you know....the one's that are consistent in all Bach degrees....I'm just trying to get all the "outside courses" done and then enrolling....
