I have 38 credits currently, mostly general education and SL Intro to C++. I was planning on a BA in Natural Sciences/Math from TESC. Recently I saw a commercial for Western Governor's University and my boss was in it, which was kind of cool. It got me thinking about WGU. I have a lot of Microsoft certifications, which would transfer in to TESC mostly as free electives, and I thought maybe WGU would be a better choice. Cost isn't a factor as my employer reimburses up to $5500 per year. I think I would be half way to a WGU degree (BS IT) with my certs.
I've been in the IT business for 21 years and my day job is Patent Engineer. My objective with a degree is to open up opportunities for advancement and to be able to serve as an expert witness.
Does switching to WGU seem rational to you? Or do you think it's better to continue on at TESC?
Thanks!

You should get an evaluation done at WGU. This will let you see which school will get you closer to your goal. TESC is good if you plan on using a lot of exam credit, but if WGU will give you full credit for your MS credentials, then you might be able to finish out the degree with clep and ace credit.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

What certs and when did you get them? I think there is a five year limit.

If you find a current WGU student they can send you a link to get a waiver on the application fee.

Here is the link to the IT transfer guide:

I was planning to enroll in WGU before I found COSC and then TESC. There were two things that I didn't like about WGU. They seem to adjust their programs frequently. I understand they need to do it since the programs are based around certification exams and adjustments would need to be made as the exams change, but it seemed to happen to often. The other problem I had was that there were to many certifications that I would had to take that I was not interested in such as the CIW exams. I have a lot more credits then WGU would expect or would apply to their IT programs, and both COSC and TESC gave me more flexibility.
