Advice for easiest, quickest Intro to Sociology….  Saylor, CLEP, UMPI??? Or Sophia with Touchstones? Any prior experience is appreciated! Thank you

Depends. If you prefer exams, CLEP or SDC would probably be the way to go. CLEP if you've got a testing center nearby - it can be free through ModernStates, of course. SDC is just the quizzes and proctored exam.

It should only have one paper at UMPI, vs. 2 papers at Sophia. If you're going to UMPI, I'd probably just do it there unless you're really looking to whittle your courses down as much as possible.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Is Saylor a no go ? I’ve heard a few things both positive and negative about Saylor?

If you're really trying to save as much money as possible, Saylor can be a good choice. However, they will take a significant amount of TIME if you're not ready to take the exam cold. You could try using ModernStates to study (instead of all of the Saylor resources) and then try the Saylor practice exam to see how you fare. Be warned that the real exam is supposed to be significantly more difficult, however.

CLEPs are a lot easier than Saylor. CLEPs are free with ModernStates.

Saylor tends to be tougher on the final than the practice exam with passing score of 70%.

CLEPs can vary with passing score but it is like 50% you pass.

I studied for 10 hours and passed the CLEP Sociology scoring in the 60's.

Introduction to Sociology at Saylor Academy is also only recommended for 1 credit (not 3 credits like other options).

Edit: Never mind. The most recent credit recommendation was backdated and 3 credits.

I used the Saylor course (and InstantCert) to study for the CLEP. I found it pretty decent as Saylor courses go, as it used the OpenStax text, but I didn't take the credit final (it didn't exist, yet) and have no idea how good or bad it might be. If you fail the credit final, you could always try the CLEP instead.

Someone who studied that text in conjunction with the InstantCert prep should be able to pass the CLEP easily enough.

When I was doing CLEPs, I used the combo of Modern States, Quizlet, InstantCert, and Peterson study guides w/ practice exams.

Looking back, it's pretty amazing that I did all that in 10hrs, but that is the time I wrote down. I remember that I watched ModernStates videos at 2x speed and might have skipped a few videos.

Basically, if you can score 70% on the CLEP practice exam or Peterson practice tests, then you are ready for the exams and should pass easily with a score of 60+ on the CLEP exam.
