Taking two CLEPs on Friday
#1
Ok, so I've got a few questions. These will be my first CLEP tests. I FINALLY got approval from my school to be able to take them (traditional private school). Anyways, I plan to take the A&I Lit and Spanish exams this Friday. For A&I Lit, there isnt much that one can study, correct? I am pretty good at this type of thing, so i dont think it will be a problem. Some have suggested to brush up on lit terms, and I may do that.

My main question is about the spanish exam. I took spanish in HS about 6 years ago. Im not good at spanish at all. My plan is to go in and basically try to guess my way through this thing. I know a lot of you guys are going to say that I should study for it and this that and the other. The thing is, the school will only let me take the spanish test by the end of this week. I am not sure what the reason on this is, but the other exams I have until the end of the semester to complete. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted this successfully? Before someone says it, yes, it is worth the $77 to me to get the chance to possibly get out of this test. Also, if there are any key points that might help me out with this, I would be really appreciative.

I've passed both tests you're about to take. the Spanish test has an 88% military pass rate (remember, they usually test for free), so given the fact that you have some prior experience with Spanish, I'd say you've got a decent shot at passing this one. I would at least take one practice test, so you're not going in completely cold. As to A&I Lit, I second simply brushing up on literary terms (and I'm anal about practice tests, best studying you can do imo).

My guess is that the high passage rate in the military may have more to due with a large Latino military population than the ease of the test. Just a thought. Regardless, good luck with the tests.
