Taking the Grad School Plunge - Thanks to This Forum!
#1
Ok, so I have decided to start my Master's in Healthcare Administration at Bellevue University 8/10/10! It is an intense 18 month non-stop cohort program. Now the worrying begins!

Am I too old to do this?
Am I smart enough to do this?
Can I survive this?

18 months ago I never would have dreamed about getting my bachelor's degree let alone enrolling in grad school. I have completed 3 degrees since 2/09 so I just hope I have the energy and focus to stay motivated. I have a grad cert I want to complete towards the end of this program or after I complete it. Then I will be done on my educational path. I have no desire to complete a dissertation so no doctorate in my future.

Thanks to all the support on this board I have gone further than I ever could have dreamed...even after several mojitos! I wish everyone the best of luck in reaching their own goals. Thank you!

You can do this, Marianne! You have accomplished so much in such a short time. So many of us want to go on to grad school; it will be a joy to watch you succeed at this, too.

(One step at a time. Don't look too far ahead and scare yourself.)

You're both an inspiration. So is the economy and data on job growth, but you two are in a good way....

As one who has recently taken the plunge, please allow me to add my 2 cents.

1) Regarding age. You will, God willing grow older. You can do it with or without a masters degree.

2) Regarding smarts. I struggled and continued to question whether I can compete at this level. It is indeed a different ball game. Thus far 4.0 Smile

3) Can you survive? Can you survive knowing the opportunity was there and you didn't do it?

Best wishes to you!
