TESU: ready to start but I need HELP!
#1
Hi, I posted over the summer about wanting to finish my undergrad as quickly as possible and I received some great advice. After posting I decided to go with TESU's BS in Professional Studies. Unfortunately I didn't start with it as I was hired for a teaching position a few weeks after my post. Fast forward to today and I'm in a huge time crunch to finish my degree for licensing purposes. I could kick myself for not getting started sooner, but I was overwhelmed a bit with my new job. I need to get a degree ASAP so that my contract will be renewed.

Here is what KayV responded with in my original post. What I need help with is which specific tests/courses to take. Honestly, I'm looking for the fastest and easiest route. I memorize and take tests well. I'd like to avoid as much math and science as possible. KayV did provide some specifics, but not for all.
I need to know what to take and where. Ideally I'd like to knock this out over the next couple of months. I'm committed and I work best under pressure, so this should be fun (haha).

KayV Wrote:TESU has a new program called the Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies that might be a good choice for you.

I think several of your excess credits could actually be used in this degree, but they have some very exact specifications listed so I was reluctant to put them in. Just count it as a happy surprise if they do.

Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies

Also, I was about to submit my application to TESU when I read something about the Cornerstone class being waived with 104 transfer credits. I presently have 96 credits. Should I take a few classes/tests first to get to 104 before applying?

Thanks in advance! I am in such a rush and basically clueless. I sincerely appreciate the time taken to help me out! Thank you!!!

I'd sign up for ALEKS asap before it is no longer available for your math course.

I agree, get those math credits if you can really quickly.

And then, get whatever you need to get to the 104cr since you're so close.

Then, after applying, register for the capstone immediately.

The other thing you might want to do: check and see what the BALS and BSBA looks like. With the BALS, you might be able to get more credits applied (although I have no idea, just throwing something out there). For the BSBA, you can test out of the capstone, so that's always a fast option.

I'd go ahead and apply and send in transcripts just because it takes so long to get that first eval done. Wait until you get to 104, then register for a TECEP to become enrolled.

The benefit of ALEKS is you can basically take the final unlimited times a day without additional cost until you pass it.

Okay, so ALEKS is not going to be accepted soon? Can anyone tell me more about that?

Also, which math class should I take? I did take intermediate algebra already and a retail math Wink Would a statistics class work? I'd much rather do that than algebra. I really despise math.

Thanks again for the advice. While I figure out which math to take I'm going to go ahead and complete that institute ethics class and get it out of the way.

As it stands ALEKS' ACE recommendations are scheduled to expire on the 31st. They've been extended the last two months, but that shouldn't make anyone confident it'll happen again. We also don't know when and if it expires whether they will ever be renewed since we've heard both no and yes. So if you want it, you need to jump on it.

College Algebra from ALEKS seems to be easier than Stats for the majority of people here. Search the forum for efficient ways to complete it.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

So to clarify, I only have until the 31st of this month to complete the ALEKS course (unless it is extended which may not happen)?
