TESU - Exploring Degree Options with Tuition Assistance
#1
Hello everyone!,

I have been offered tuition assistance of up to $2,000 per academic year starting in 2025.

I completed my BA in CS at TESU and am interested in programs that would allow me to pursue further degrees (BA, MS, AS) in Data Science, Analytics, or something related to Marketing, as I currently work as the Webmaster in a Marketing Team.

I would like to know, given my credits at TESU and those masters credits I have from WGU and NYU, which program would provide the best value for my investment.

The ideal scenario for me would be to earn an AS alongside a BA, or a BA alongside an MS, or to pursue all three degrees (AS, BA, and MS) simultaneously (I'm greedy)

I know that you have to take 16 credits in a semester to avoid paying the resident's fee, wondering how I will manage that

Here is one possible option:
https://www.ucumberlands.edu/academics/g...ta-science

They have several other programs:
https://www.ucumberlands.edu/academics/graduate

The thread right before yours also has a new option at Amberton:

In progress: HAU MBA (2/3rds done so far) Completed: BA Economics | Finland Open Studies @ XAMK/Metropolia/Helsinki/Laurea

Don’t bother with another bachelors degree. It will not add any value beyond what you already have. There are several Data-related Masters programs that are in the $10,000 range. Two that come to mind for me are at Amberton and at Eastern. Check out the curriculum at those schools to see if they fit your goals. If you want to learn more on the business side of things, I believe the MBA at Hellenic American University is still $3000. Great opportunity if business is just a secondary goal behind data/computer science.

The HAU MBA is a great suggestion. It even has a digital marketing concentration option:

I wouldn't do a bachelor's in Data Analytics, as that wouldn't add much value. I would do certificates instead.

The BS Business Admin in marketing would be a good option to add value to your career.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

@Lightorb333, Welcome back to TESU for your FREE BSBA in another AOS of your choice! No Cornerstone, no residency requirements, just a capstone, app & grad fee and you're done! (Obviously, you have to take the Sophia.org, Study.com or whatever provider you want to use for ACE/NCCRS to get the max transfer of credits, the $2K will pay for the capstone but maybe not the extra fees)
In Progress: Walden MBA | TESU BA Biology & Computer Science
Graduate Certificate: Global Management & Entrepreneurship, ASU (Freebie)

Completed: TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)
Universidad Isabel I: ENEB MBA, Big Data & BI, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
Certs: 6Sigma/Lean/Scrum, ITIL | Cisco/CompTIA/MTA | Coursera/Edx/Udacity

Thank you so much, bjcheung77!

Could you please clarify why there is no residency requirement? So, if I were to choose an Area of Study where most of my credits could be transferred and that aligns with my goals, I would then complete any remaining classes using ACE/NCCRS, followed by the capstone project.

TESU only requires 15 residency credits now, and that's it, you don't need an additional 15 credits for any more certs, associates or bachelors degree, etc.  If I read this correctly, these were done at TESU, thus, you just pay what I mentioned in my post above... Technically, you can add X certs, 2 associates, and an extra bachelors to your entire list with just the cost of the capstone and other fees I mentioned, the rest can be transferred in with ACE/NCCRS.
