TESU - English from Study.com won't work after April 1, 2020

Thank you for telling me, I did not know that. So I would not have to take SOS-110 either if I already have a Bachelors Degree?

According to the TESU website, if you have already earned a bachelor's, you are exempt from the SOS-110 requirements (along with any other GenEd requirements). Though that is from last summer, so who knows if TESU has changed the policy since then. As far as I know, it is still accurate.

If you're coming back to TESU for a second bachelor's, you need a minimum of 24 new credits (including the capstone and any other degree-specific course requirements) in the AoS (or core) of the 2nd degree. This means that if the second degree has a specific list of required courses (a higher math or science requirement, for example), you will still have to meet those requirements despite being Gen Ed courses. The kicker is that all of these new credits must have been earned after the date the most recent degree was conferred.

TESU already accepted up to 90 CR long before that agreement was signed.

I think the inmates now in charge are trying to create a rule-bound, bureaucracy rich, regular school out of something great and innovative.  There are 10,000 inbred bureaucratic schools in the US.  What we don't need is the 10,001st.  There are a small handful of schools that actually help students get a degree as cheaply and hassle free as possible.  We can't afford to lose one.

This is actually a transfer guarantee for the NJ CC's to TESU - very common in many states.  And, the 3+1 is cool too, because for many people who are at CC's, going for 90cr instead of 60cr is a great deal.

This is a different audience than ours - people from out-of-state looking to transfer in 114cr, much of it alternative credit.  These are more traditional students, possibly ones who are young.

So it really doesn't suck at all.  It's a good deal for traditional students.

Thank you Merlin. I did not know that. I would have 10 courses (30 credits) left all in my AOS not counting the Capstone if I wanted to get a BACS from TESU. I was thinking of maybe knocking out a couple of courses on Study.com but I think I will hold off for the reason you listed. I should probably also hold off from that since the changes at TESU seem to happen regularly now and I don't want to take something to only find out in a few months that it wont transfer.. I still might get a BACS but only after finishing at WGU and becoming re-enrolled at TESU.

Or you could save yourself the headache and get a BSCS (or BSSD) from WGU instead. You can take the balance of courses you need from Study.com and just complete the last 30 credits with WGU and finish in 6 months or less. You'll have a good chance of earning a tuition discount (aka scholarship) for being a WGU alumnus as well.

I had also considered going back to TESU for a BACS, but with all the changes going on, I am not sure it is worthwhile anymore when WGU is an option.

I'm not suggesting that you switch from the business degree to the CS degree at WGU. Rather, you may be better off going back to WGU for the CS degree once you complete your bachelor's, rather than going to TESU for that. That way you still get your business degree first.

You might also consider looking for a tech-related master's degree rather than going back for a second bachelor's in CS. Two bachelor's degrees will do you little good, unless you specifically need a bachelor's in CS to qualify you for something (like a master's in CS).

I'm effectively doing the same thing. I got my BSBA first and then a MBA. Now I'm done with my business degrees and am planning to pick up a tech-focused master's or doctoral degree next.

I am so disappointed in the recent decisions by TESU. These are exactly why I spent every waking moment studying and doing homework to complete courses, as I don’t want to deal with these drastic changes.

With these English courses don't you have written assignments that have to be marked or something, is it possible to get them both done in that timeframe? Is there any reason not to just take them at SL?
