I would suggest your friend not use you as an example. TESU could conceivably give you grief over it if you bring it to their attention strongly enough.
BTW, this isn't only a TESU thing. My son ran into it when deciding whether to take organic chem at his CC or wait until he transferred to UCSD. Same course, same material and UCSD was happy to accept the CC courses as meeting the requirement for OChem, but not as UL credit.
