TESU BSAST in Information Technology plan help please
#1
I transferred all my previous credits to TESU. I need 64 credits more to graduate.

If anyone can guide me through the plan which costs less and hopefully faster that would be nice.

That's a lengthy list, grab one of dfrecore's spreadsheets and create/compare your own.
The majority of the courses can be completed by Davar, Saylor, Straighterline and Study.com
You may want to focus on one section first, IE - general education requirements first.
Then work on your Area of Study, use that spreadsheet for reference/tracking purposes.

I adjusted the plan a bit. If you sign up with Study.com, you pay $199 for a month, and get 2 courses for that. You then also get an affiliate discount at TESU. That gives you a waiver on the cornerstone (-$300), a discount on the residency waiver fee ($1800 instead of $2500), and a huge discount on the price per credit of any online courses you take there.

You do need to get any IT Elective courses pre-approved at TESU, since I'm unclear what they need to be (I've not seen the Areas 1-4 before and don't know what the requirements of those are).

Thank you so much for your input. I will verify with academic advisor what those IT electives are.

Ah very nice spreadsheet. I'm looking at the BA in CS but was worried about getting the UL credits in. After looking at the spreadsheet I feel it shouldn't be too hard.

I have registered at ST and have started ENC 102 and Business Stat.

But I'm still not sure about how I go about locking in to the catalog.

Someone please kindly explain what does enrolling at TESU means to lock into this year catalog.

Thanks

That means getting in by June 30th, because they change their catalog every year on July 1st.

It means that you will be on their existing 2016-2017 policies instead of on their new 2017-2018. We don't know what they might change. Sometimes they change requirements for degrees, increase fees, etc.

After you apply, then you can register for a TECEP or course, and you're considered an enrolled student 10 days after the term starts. You are then "locked" into a catalog, meaning the requirements laid out in the catalog stay the same for you as long as you continue to be enrolled (another TECEP or course each year after this). They cannot change your degree requirements on you. For instance, I am catalog 2014/15. My BSBA requirement does not have Civic Engagement as a requirements. They added that later. But I don't have to do it.

Locking in a catalog does NOT lock in fees. If fees change (for instance they increase tuition), you will have to pay the increase. Also, for some students who were in the Enrolled Options Plan (or something along those lines), once the plan year expired, they could not keep it, because it went away. Fees, tuition plans, can and do change, and you can't "lock" those in.

Ok I'm more puzzled about enrollment now.

I'm looking through my spreadsheet and the only thing I can or need to registered at TESU is the capstone course which I'm not ready for.

About TECEP, I don't see any that I need to take that are available through TESU.

I'm taking Enc 102 and STA 201 through ST, so I can just transfer those once I'm done.

Am I missing something here? Is there something I can do enroll or should I just wait it out?

thank you again.
