No, I wanted to be very sure about that detail so I got approval (in writing) to do 1 and 1 of each from the department head. I'm not sure if it's an exception or not. I did already have other 4cr Science/Labs I transferred in from a B/M University plus a bunch of other Science courses so maybe that's why they approved the request? I have no idea.
Has anything changed since then in how TESU worded or applied the science requirement?

I'm not seeing what's different. The requirements table is exactly the same on the 2020 and 2023 links.

You're only looking at the bottom 'Degree Requirements' box not the degree requirements as a whole - LOOK UP at Section II Technical Studies (55 Credits) area, this is where they now 'spell it out' that the II with lab is required (that was not included back in 2020)
