TESU BALS vs BALS: GM Concentration
#1
hi everyone,

I've been working towards a BALS with a GM Concentration. I'm at the point where I need to start doing UL classes and was looking at the SDC classes. The assignments for these classes just don't do anything for me. I have no interest. If I continue on this route, I will avoid doing them and prolong this whole thing.

I'm wondering, if I switch to a BALS with no concentration, am I allowed to do a mix of classes with assignments that interest me, as long as they are UL and aren't all in one area? Like maybe 3 psych, 1 business and 1 social science?

TIA!

Yes you can!  And with those 3 UL Psychology course, you just made yourself a BALS SS (Social Science).
Others on here have BALS and a HUM (Humanities), I recommend doing something you have an interest.

It just requires 3 UL and 3LL in your concentration of choice, you then need 2 UL along with 2 LL in any other Liberal Arts.
If all else doesn't interest you, a BALS with no concentration is a great check the box degree!

So, decide if you want a HUM or a SS...  See this link for examples of what can be used for HUM/SS.

Does this requirement of 3 UL/3LL concentration of choice also apply to all concentrations, even CS or CIS, or just humanities and social science?

Thanks!

Just the BALS concentrations/certificates courses.  For a BA in CS, you need 18cr of UL in the major, for a BSBA in CIS, you need 12cr of UL in the AOS.
