Hi all, thanks for all the input over the last few months. This semester I completed:
1. CS capstone LIB-495
2. BSBA capstone BUS-421
3. Info Lit SOS-110
I have the ingredients needed to get a 4.0 in all my degrees. I am just stuck on one thing and want to make sure I don't leave anything on the table. I want to make sure that I cannot tack on the extra CIS degree with my finance degree without adding a bunch of extra work.
Because I did the network tech TECEP and the CS capstone, if I do a dual degree in the business degree those two RA sources of credit won't be able to be used in the degree if I am understanding things correctly.
Questions:
1. If I do the dual CIS + finance BSBA the 6 finance classes will go into the 5 electives for the CIS degree. I will have one course over and would need to do 11 RA courses for this dual degree correct? Because I would actually need 41 classes for this dual degree not 40. So the 90 credits/30 classes can be transfer but the 33 left over or 11 classes would all need to be RA right?
2. Am I understanding correctly that I cannot use my CS degree classes (LIB-495 Capstone & Network technology TECEP) that are RA credit in the dual degree without increasing the count of classes? Meaning if I did use them in the electives portion of the degrees they would push the total classes for the dual degree to 43 needed. Then I would need 13 RA classes total?
I just need to make sure I am not leaving any money on the table by not getting this extra dual degree unless I would really need to find 3 extra RA classes. If I can't I simply do CS+BSBA Finance. I can toss my LIB-495 and Network Tecep into the electives for that degree because the ones from the dual degree CIS won't be there.
Am I understanding this correctly? Advising... is hit or miss. Any guidance before the finish line would be appreciated.

For the BSBA finance, the liberal arts capstone and the TECEP can go into the general electives. RA classes should always override classes from Sophia/SDC/etc. whenever possible.
You only need a minimum of 30 RA credits in a degree, even a dual AOS degree, and everything else can come from alt credit. Once you have completed the BSBA CIS requirements, in order to get the BSBA finance all you would need to do would be to transfer in the remaining classes from SDC.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

The BSBA/CIS and BSBA/FIN will not have any AoS courses in common. So you just need to do the 6 additional FIN courses (2 LL and 4 UL) to add on this AoS to the BSBA.

Okay but I only have 5 elective spots and the AOS is 6. Doesn't the 6 additional AoS go into the elective spots? And then there are no spots left to use my BACS courses in the electives. Am I missunderstanding this?

Yes but doesn't those 6 extra courses I complete go into general electives? There are only 5 slots in the BSBA for gen electives. So doing the dual degree don't the 6 finance going into the electives fill it up? Then it is full so I cannot use the CS classes in those slots right? Each one pushes the total needed past 40 classes.

Doing entrepreneurship is a bunch of extra courses. I also think that degree is a trap. Business often turn people away who are entrepreneurship minded because they might start their own gig and are looking for other opportunities. I have heard from recruiters some employers completely avoid them.
That said, getting a free and easy CIS degree seems like a no brainer add on if possible. If for nothing else but padding and bypassing degree checks for positions requiring it.

Here's a link to LevelUP's thread, 123123... I'll explain why I'm posting this in a second: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-of-123123
It's 1:23pm Pacific Time, when I read this and replied, so let's find how long it takes me to type a message like this...
When you're doing the Double AOS (it's not a double degree, it's just one degree with two AOS), so you want to get that straight.
The issue you're coming with the 6 courses and the 5 free electives is, you're trying to force something into what it's not.
The degree evaluation is only for one AOS, that changes when you add a second, it'll add the 18 credits over the 120.
Technically, you need the 138 credits, but you can get away with it if you already have "junk credits". You essentially need 123.
Yes, you read that right, 123. Why? You just tell them to change your plan to a double AOS and remove the 15 free electives in place of the second AOS.
Note: If you're done for each degree... Again, it's 1 degree, two AOS, you need to make sure you've completed BOTH AOS by doing the 'what if'.
<singing along with Rihanna> 1.2.3...1.2.3... Um, I just had a brain fog, which song is that number from anyways?
I remember the singer and some lyrics about a chandelier. I don't keep up with artists, I just listen to whatever is on the radio.
Oh, last but not least... if you complete this degree in time, you'll be graduating... 123123...

Thank you for the response. So I can or cannot use my CS LIB-495 and Network tech tecep somehow in my dual degree BSBA to hit my 10 required courses?

Sure, why not? They can always leave the initial evaluation as 138 credits. You will again need to make sure you've got the 18 AOS #1, 18 AOS #2, and the 15 credits of whatever you want. It can be anything, so the Capstone, TECEP, and anything else you throw at it will work (as long as it's not remedial/vocational credits). If you want, you can even do the Coursera/TADA certs as long as they have ACE recommendation and credit to use for the free electives!

TESU will use your RA courses first, always. But since you're hitting your 30cr of RA with 1st degree, that requirement doesn't apply with the 2nd degree. You need 30cr of RA overall, and you've met that requirement. You are fine.
