TESU BA in history, poli sci or double major?
#1
I would love input and help on if any of these classes can be taken elsewhere and transferred or tested out of. I'm also unsure if its a better idea to get a degree in political science or history or what the requirements are to double major. As it stands when I toggle between the two it says 14 credits are needed for a history degree or 26 for a poli-sci. I'm not even sure what I'm doing with the degree yet, but I went to school for so long and finally need to decide on something.

These are the classes it says I still need for a History BA:
1 credit in Information literacy
TES 100
3 credits non western history
3 credits historical methods
6 credits area of study electives at 300/400 level
3 credit liberal arts capstone
(This adds up to 16 credits but on the evaluation page it says 14 credits needed so I'm not sure where that comes into play)

These are the classes it says I still need for a Political Science BA:
1 credit in information literacy
TES 100
3 credits American Gov't upper level
3 credits Theory/Process upper level
3 credits comparative gov't upper level
3 credits research methods
12 credits Area of study elective
3 credits liberal arts capstone

Below is a list of classes that I've transferred to TESU and what they're listed as by TESU.

How does that work exactly? Do you sit for a test somewhere and that transfers?

Yes, you study independently and then set up an appointment to test with an approved proctor. If you get a high enough score (in this case, 400), TESU will accept it as transfer credit. It will be upper-level and fulfill your non-Western history requirement.

How do you find an approved proctor?

Like CLEP, the DSST exams are only provided at designated test centers. You can find the nearest one by using the DSST test center seach page: https://www.getcollegecredit.com/search/
