Depending on your catalog year, here's the entire list to select from: https://www.tesu.edu/academics/courses/g...on-courses
Either links will bring you to a specific catalog year, on the left, you can just select the one that applies to your degree catalog year.

!! Exception: The total number of semester hours required for your degree program has increased to balance/account for extra semester hour(s) applied to other specific requirements or sections. (add'l credit req'd due to over in Free Electives)
In Section 5, Electives, it says this:
!! Exception 29 sh needed due to over in Written Comm
SH Earned: 30
Is this anything to be concerned about?
In addition, I completed Sophia's Intro to Sociology and it transferred in as SOC-1100 which does not meet the requirements of Diversity Intercultural Literacy instead of SOC-1010. It has only been a couple days since the credits appeared in my transfer summary and I have not gotten the email that my academic evaluation is complete. Is there a chance that this will update to SOC-1010 or should I contact TESU now to appeal it?
Thanks to this forum, I am well on my way to finally getting my BA in Criminal Justice after 17 years of being in my career. I transferred in 77 credits from my AS, and since the beginning of May 2023 have completed 21 credits on Sophia and just finished my first course on Study.com. I have 5 more Study.com courses along with the cornerstone and capstone to complete. I suggest you consider appealing to the registrar regarding your transfer of sociology credits from Sophia. The course was converted to SOC-110 a month ago and successfully fulfilled the requirements for the Diversity intercultural literacy section for mine.

Can you explain what you mean by it was converted to SOC-110 a month ago? I appealed to genedappeals@tesu.edu and got this response from an Assistant Dean "Although ACE recommends credit, each institution determines how credit will transfer. The University reviewed the course and as of 9/15/21, determined that Sophia's course Intro of Sociology: Embracing Diversity is not equivalent to our SOC-101 Intro to Sociology. The transfer credit you received is accurate."
I'm half way through the Study.com Sociology course (I had to slow down last week, work is busy), but even if I complete this I wouldn't mind not having to take the proctored final if I could appeal the Sophia course further instead.

Yes, definitely appeal anything on your academic evaluation that doesn't work out the way you expected or wanted to. Worst case scenario, you get told no and wasted 15 minutes writing an email. Best case scenario, you save lots of time and money by not having to take another course.
To make an appeal, simply write an email to enrolled@tesu.edu with the title "Appeal of Academic Evaluation". Write a concise summary of the credits and/or requirements you are appealing, what they were evaluated as, what you think they should be evaluated as, and why. Attach any supporting documentation, such as course syllabi, descriptions, or outlines. Be sure to include you TESU student ID, email, and legal name.
Expect a reply in a week or two. Note that you only have thirty days to make an appeal after an evaluation is finished.
Just today I prevailed in an important appeal. The ASU UL CIS-194 operating systems course came in as CIS-199 special topics. I specifically needed ITS-1600 Fundamentals of Modern Operating Systems for the BSIT operating systems requirement. I sent in an appeal last week with the ASU course flyer and syllabus. Today TESU responded granting my appeal, updating the equivalency and allowing the course to fill the BSIT requirement.
This example also demonstrates why you want to retain documents such as the syllabus for every class, course, or credit- you might need it for an appeal later.

Two things about the Sophia Sociology course:
1: I don’t know if it helps (it wouldn’t for me), but TESU accepted one on my GF’s ACTFL Spanish tests as fulfilling the diversity requirement.
2: I’m glad I saw this when I did. She is waiting on assignment grading from Sophia, and was planning to have the Intro to Sociology fill that requirement and push her ACTFL test down to another area (Liberal Studies). Seeing this when I did, I was able to bring up to her that that won’t work with the new Sophia Soc class while she still had Sophia open to take something else that should work. It sucks that the Soc class doesn’t fit (for you and her), but THANK YOU for asking the question when you did!

Last month, when I transferred, the sociology course I took at Sophia wasn't considered as Soc-101. Instead, it was designated as Soc-110 and fulfilled the diversity category. For further clarification, I recommend reaching out to the registrar directly at registrar@tesu.edu.

Thank you!!! I emailed registrar@tesu.edu and politely asked if SOC-1100 could be used to meet the Diversity Intercultural Literacy requirement. They got back to me about 10 minutes later and said "No problem, SOC-1100 has been moved to your Diversity requirement."
I was really dragging my feet through the SDC Sociology course, so that saved me a lot of time! I feel like I'm back on track now!

Weird, it rarely needs to go up the chain to the registrar... most of the times, academic advising would have completed the change for you, I wonder what happened there or if the ball was dropped somewhere in the process. Oh well, we won't know, the main thing is you got it corrected! Onto the next courses until completion...

Upon transferring my classes to TESU initially, a significant portion of them were mistakenly categorized and had incorrect equivalencies. In order to rectify this, I had to personally reach out to the registrar for assistance. Thankfully, they swiftly addressed the issue by making the necessary corrections. Additionally, I sought their guidance regarding the suitability of courses from other ACE or NCCRS providers for meeting my requirements. The registrar provided accurate information, allowing me to complete those courses without any issues and seamlessly transfer them to my degree plan.
