Hey everyone!
So I wanted to sign up for Biology 1 with Lab at my local community college,
however the pre-reqs are that you're eligible for Math 108 (college algebra) and an English class.
I already have English 1 and 2 from Penn Foster and Straighterline, and I have College Algebra from ALEKS.
I don't think the community college will accept these for pre-reqs, but if I were to credit bank them with TESC do you think that would work? Are the credit banking transcrips "official" and would the CC look at it like a legitimate transcript???
LEt me know what you guys think, thanks!!!

The CC will request transcripts from the original source.

You probably have a better shot banking what you can with ACE and bringing that to the CC. I still doubt it will work though. Maybe take the CLEP exams you need instead?
The school will likely let you test for proficiency via compass or accuplacer...but be careful you don't get caught in a situation where they wont take say the College Math CLEP because you didn't "place" into it on your assessment.
You might also take your unofficial transcripts form the sources to a counselor, explain that you have met the requirement and see if they can give you an override to take the course. A Biology Instructor could likely get you an override as well.
Good Luck!

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Another way - If you are enrolled at TESC, they may give you a letter that says you have met the prerequisites and it is okay for you to take the course as a visiting student at the CC. I have read about a policy like this at Excelsior.

You can meet those eligibility requirements by taking the CC's free placement exam. It'll be called COMPASS, ASSET, or similar. That's exactly what those exams are for. If you fail to meet the standards that way, you can move onto plan B.
My plan B would be finding a CC without prereqs, much easier and cheaper than messing around with credit banking- which probably won't work anyway.
