TESC Question Concerning Age
#1
My question is, I'm 15 and currently have 96 credits. I'm going to transfer into TESC with 120 credits. I'm going for my accounting degree. To eventually get my CPA, I need 150 credits, so I'm going to do 30 credits at TESC.

Since I'm 15, will TESC let me in without being connected with College Plus (CP has an agreement with TESC to let younger students in)?

I've heard another younger student had to write them an letter and got in without problems.

hornj and collegebyclep both appear to have taken the same road, so they would have good insight. Gooberman11 appears to have also started the process. Here's a post on the topic of what they did to get admitted. No separate organizational associations appear to be needed, just some letter-writing skills.

Yep, they will most likely ask you for a reason to waive the age requirement. You could tell them about how many credits you have acquired and most likely need to send in unofficial transcript info. I believe you should have no trouble being accepted.
To my knowledge TESC has been accepting younger students who have completed college credits for MANY years. I do not believe College Plus has any inside connection at all on getting younger students in. Best of luck.

I have been enrolled with Thomas Edison, for a month now, and I am not with CP. I just turned 18, so I had to write a letter asking for "waiver of policy," since I was under 21. It wasn't that difficult. Smile As Gooberman11 said, you just state why you think you are a good candidate for TESC (good work-ethic, value of education, etc.), how many credits you have, why you chose TESC, etc. I had to send my unofficial transcripts (I scanned my score copies and emailed them as PDFs...I think you can fax them). (THIS IS AFTER I APPLIED.) I received an email stating that I would have to write the letter. It outlined what I needed to do (what I mentioned above). I didn't have any problems and it wasn't confusing. Again, once you have applied, they will tell you what you need to do. Hope that helps!!!

Congrats on having that many credits! Way to go!!! Smile

First, you're awesome. Smile
Second, College Plus is a "travel agent" that you pay in exchange for guidance through the credit earning process. Clearly, they should hire you. They have no special arrangements that you can't arrange for yourself. You'll apply and they'll ask you to write a simple letter stating why you should be allowed to enroll (because you have college credit) and you're in. Easy-peasy.

Good luck to you!

I love the "Travel Agent" analogy, So true this forum does seem to foster those individuals who'll make a way for themselves, I'd love to be able to follow people down the road a few years and see how they've overcome obstacles without the aid of a travel agent in the process.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing
