TESC Liberal Studies - Diploma?

Hi everyone...my TESC transcript has BA in Liberal Studies but my diploma only has "Bachelor of Arts" on it...is "Liberal Studies" normally not on TESC's diplomas?

It is my understanding that at TESC this type of degree isn't a "major", but a "concentration" which is not listed on diplomas. So,something akin to "Bachelor of Arts in Generic" (with a focus on humanities, social science, lib studies, etc.). Just saying "Bachelor of Arts" looks a bit better I suppose. Thank you...so if I get another one in Psychology or History, will it still only have Bachelor of Arts?

From posts on here, yes it just says bachelor of arts.
Now I am getting a BSBA CIS and I don't even know if my diploma is going to say bachelor of science or bachelor of science in business administration.

Bachelor of Arts in anything will say Bachelor of Arts. Add psychology or history, or whatever you want to the list. Only few colleges in the country EVER put majors, concentrations, areas of focus (or anything that anyone here thinks mean different things which are all the same thing) listing majors on diplomas is more common among nationally accredited colleges, and IMO is a little millish.

The only place your major, concentration, area of study appears is on your transcript.



(as I wait for someone to tell me how THEIR college lists it on THEIR degree....so yes, it's possible, but it's certainly NOT traditional and has NOTHING to do with TESC and EVERYTHING to do with industry-wide norms.)

P.S. If you have a degree in Liberal Arts, you won't be able to earn another degree in ONE OF the liberal arts (psychology, history, etc) it needs to be significantly different: business, nursing, etc.

However, for a BSBA in anything it says bachelor of science in business administration. The same for a BSAST. It seems that if the degree is a BS/BA in something, only BS or BA is written, if the degree is a BSBA or BSAST in something, BSBA or BSAST is written. The major or concentration (the "in something" part) is not written.

This is based off information I received from others, someone who actually graduated from TESC would have first-hand knowledge.

Thanks everyone...I just noticed that my AA diploma doesn't have a major on it either.

Cookderosa, I'm glad you mentioned not being able to get another degree in a Liberal Arts area...saved me from studying for a CLEP/DSST that won't matter...guess I'll go for a BSBA...not really interested in pursuing a Masters right now.

Interesting..did not realize this. I'm considering the BSBA. I still wonder why other degrees just flat out refuse to put it on the diploma..going to ask a TESC advisor!
