Terminology confusion
#1
I've got a quick question for TESC students. I recently enrolled and sent requests to DSST, CLEP, and FEMA for my transcripts to be sent to TESC. I've been watching the "Transcripts Received" at the Online Student Services like a hawk ever since then. This morning something showed up! While exciting to see that they actually received something, it's confusing in that I have absolutely no idea what it is. It says "TESC-Assessment Credit." Does that mean they're in the middle of evaluating how it will fit into the degree plan I chose when I enrolled? I just want to know which transcript was received.

... let me back up a little. When I took my first 2 CLEPs early last year, I had the scores sent on to TESC, but I didn't do that with any of the others I've taken (and the ECE didn't even have an option). Once I finally enrolled I saw that TESC had received a CLEP transcript from back when I started. That was encouraging. Now, however, along with the CLEP transcript there's this "TESC-Assessment Credit," and I have no idea what it means.

Also, the CLEP transcript that was received hasn't been put into my unofficial Academic Evaluation. Is that normal? The only thing that's there is the course I'll be taking from TESC next month.

I hope that makes sense to someone. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Elinor,

Under transcripts received as they come in they are listed as:

TESC Assessment Credit = FEMA
TESC ACE
TESC CLEP
TESC Dantes
2 & 4yr colleges are each listed separately

Only the date will change if the same company sends in a new transcript.

Generally evaluations take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to update. As I check quite often from about the 2 wk mark I remember to recite "patience is a virtue."Smile

:iagree: Well said. Tesc is slow to acknowledge receipt of transcripts and slow to update evaluations.

Thanks, y'all! That helps a lot!

I'm curious though, those 2 CLEP scores that they've had for a year, why haven't they shown up on the evaluation? Do they only start doing the evaluation after you've enrolled?
