TESC Financial Aid / Tuition Plan
#1
Hi! I've just received my financial aid package today but the enrollment deadline for March 2014 is tomorrow. I'm now absolutely lost and customer service hasn't been much help. I know that I want to get the maximum benefit out of my financial aid package. I verified and TESC does allow consortium agreements BUT it has to be for a course that isn't offered. Which plan should I accept? With 4 terms a year, I am looking at 24 credits a year in Online/ GS courses in order to get my full financial aid.

Are you in-state or out of state? I'm using the non-resident rates.

Enrolled Options
$3,154 enrollment fee +
$ 5,664(24 X 236 per credit hour) =
$8818

Comprehensive Tuition
$8,647 for up to 36 credits. As long as you take 24 credits OL/GS courses to receive your full award, they won't charge you extra for TECEPs, portfolio assessments, and e-Packs up to 36 credits total for the year.

Per Credit
24 X 491 = $11,784

I don't understand how they couldn't help you with this because it's a very basic question. Even their website says that those taking 24 or more credits per year will be better off under the Comprehensive Tuition Plan.

This was only a partial FA package because there are only two terms remaining for the current year. So you need to take 6cr for each semester (March & June). If you accept the total amount awarded each semester $5554 then deduct tuition and registration fees and you will be refunded the difference. Uusally with enrolled options you recieve the refund the second term as the majority of tuition is deducted from the first payout. This is not a discussion for customer serivice, you need to address questions to the Bursar's office. Also you will need apply again in July for the next award year which for you would be September 2015-August 2016 (Terms: September, December, March, June). Yourenrollment year would have already been paid so only the cost for 6cr will deducted for September and December. This gives you your 24cr for the year under enrolled options. Same scenario if you use comprehensive tuition which is essentially prepaying for up to 36cr/yr. Under comprehensive you can register for ePack courses and TECEP exams.

You didn't mention which degree you are pursuing?

Keep in mind TESC has 3 6cr UL courses
War and American Society HIS356
Social Psychology PSY379
Gloval Environmental Change ENS314

You caould take one of these courses (OL or GS0 to use FA. With only one course you still have the time to manage exams and/or non-traditional courses (Straitgherline etc). This was the method I used to move through the degree program faster.

I had started out with the bursar's office but since I had a question about disbursement I was bounced to financial aid who then bounced me back and before I knew it, it was 4:29 and and the call had been cut off.

I chose the comprehensive plan. Does my enrollment then expire April 2016?

I am looking at a BSBA in Accounting and Finance but I also want to test out of my BA in Psychology once I'm done with the BSBA. I'm re finessing my degree plans now and will be posting them later.

Thank you sanantone and bricabrac.

Ooo comprehensive, great plan. Your year will expire February 29 2016.

So the 6cr courses will not really help you but the epacks and teceps will be a great addition to knoicking out credit. I highly recommend PSY363 Industrial Psychology ePack. It would fit both your BSBA (business elective) and BA Psychology degree plans. Good luck!
