TESC BSBA CIS planning / Eval Received
#1
Got my Evaluation for BSBA CIS and AAS in Computer Studies from TESC

.xlsx   TESC_EVAL.xlsx (Size: 11.74 KB / Downloads: 0)

.txt   TESC_EVAL_MRHTOAD.txt (Size: 9.82 KB / Downloads: 0)

So I've completed 12 Femas,Stats,Precal,Intermed & College Algebra from Aleks and 8 hours from CC

Looks like I got lucky that the CC credited me 4credits for my A+. I still need to contact TESC about my Network + and my HDI Customer Service Rep cert.I'm going to try to match it to their APS-302 Customer Service a Practical Approach. If granted that would be 2 and 3 (5) credits

This Evaluation is missing two courses which I'm assuming will be under CIS Electives (2 over so is that Gen ed or Business Elec?)
IT232 Unix Networking 4.00
IT140 Cisco Network Fundamentals 4.00

I'm currently working on English Comp 2 from SL (StraighterLine) and Western Civ (buy one get one deal)
The English Comp 2 will grant me AAS in Applied Computer Studies Degree.

I'm signed up for Programming Fundamentals from CC and going to take 1 other course (Humanities). (need 2 for loan) (6)
Feb. I will be taking tests for my Security+ and Linux cert (4)

In March I Plan to take 2 classes from TESC to qualify for my loan so I'm thinking about doing a Humanities and System Analysis and Design I (CIS-320) , Unless I have to take a Business Class from them. I read that Adams College offers System Analysis also self paced.

Currently Debating between SL vs CLEPs, I don't know how fast/well I'd complete the business/accounting cleps, So I may do SL to guide me through it.

SL
ECO-111 Macroeconomics 3
ECO-112 Microeconomics 3
ACC-101 ACCOUNTING 1 3
ACC-102 ACCOUNTING 2 3
MAN-373 Bus. Comm 3
Intro to Soc/Psychology 3 (If I don't take it from TESC)
Science Course w/Lab 4

Cleps/DSST
FIN301 Princ of Finance DSST (Princ of Finance) 3 DSST
MAN301 Prc of Management CLEP (Princ of Management) 3 CLEP
MAR301 Into to Marketing CLEP (Price of Marketing) 3 CLEP
LAW201 Business Law CLEP (Intro to Bus Law) 3 CLEP
BUS311 Busin Soc/International Mgt DSST (Business Ethics and Society) 3 DSST
BUS421 Business Policy 3 TECEP/TESC

Then I need to contact TESC to try for the below.
MAT 102 Beginner Algebra (If I get Lucky) 3
HDI -CUST SVC CERT. FOR APS-302 Cust Service a Practical Approach 3
2 Rollover From CIS Elec & 1 from Bus Elecs 3

Thanks guys I really appreciate checking over my plan / any advice.

Your plan looks great. If for some reason your Sec+ & Linux certs get delayed, remember the MIS DSST and Intro to Computers are easy passes. Also remember the DSST (or CLEP) Intro to Comp is transcribed as COS (Computer Science), so it could apply as the Nat Science credit you still need. As far as what TESC classes to take, I'd consider taking courses in your major like Systems Analysis (CIS &/or BSBA portion)....reasoning is that TESC gives a GPA based on their own classes only. Now my youngest son was able to state that he had a TESC BA CS core GPA of 3.55 (overall 3.1) based on graded courses. I realize in your case it is only 6 credits but every bit helps when applying to grad school. In his case the core GPA is what got him in.

Good luck!

Cool, thanks Geezer I didn't know I could use that for Nat Science. Yeah if the certs get delayed, I will check into the DSST I just figured I could get double mileage from the certs. I tried to get my net + notarized today and was told she couldn't verify the document only a letter from me. Talked to someone else they said the same thing that they can only verify documents signed in front of them, or forms filled out etc not if xyz document is legit or not. She said only Comptia can do that so guess I'll call TESC and see if they can use the verify link that is on the darn cert. I think I'm going to enjoy Systems Analysis I was just thinking of doing something easier to get my GPA to match, what I currently have at the CC I'm leaving... I know its silly ,but I'd like to keep my 3.65. Juggling all of these while trying for A's at TESC may a bit much if I don't pick the classes carefully haha I totally agree GPA may be important later on and being able to show that my GPA was over 3.5 entire time in CC will stand up if they ever do scrutinize the fact that on my BS its from 6 hours.
