I am about to finish the Guided Study course...I never saw a "sample paper." :leaving: Where did you find yours? The sample topics were never listed, either, though the syllabus said to check them out. I started in June, so they were just switching things over to the new Moodle format. A sample paper would have really helped!!! I didn't see a list of topics, either, but I guess that's because they were switching to Moodle from Blackboard. As for the sample paper, I'm doing the Online format, and the professor posted it in the forum. Maybe because you're doing Guided Study you weren't given access to one?

So...is the "Results of Study" section of the Capstone pretty similar to the "Literature Review"—like a summation of it? In most of the examples I've seen, the student has done interviews and puts their results there. I'm using primarily documents for my research (and 1 survey, for part of it). I'm kinda stuck...

I'm also in the Capstone now. I feel like I'm writing each chapter blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back. I just can't seem to understand what exactly is expected? I have to do a literature review and annotated bibliography this module, and it sounds like they are almost the same thing, but the directions say it is a mini research paper. My whole paper is a research paper, so I'm flummoxed, lol. If there's any way to share the sample you saw, I'd love to see it? It might help me to know what is expected of me.
My topic is similar to the one posted about a historical figure largely ignored in schools/history books.

Well, what I did for module 4 was I used statistics and data that I found for my topic and then used that data to reinforce some of the material I used for the literature review (module 2), I kind of interwoven them together with some graphs. I still am unsure where the graphs ultimately end up in the final paper (maybe I cut and paste the graphs and put them into an appendice later on ???) I also added the interview portion, then did a summary. I am assuming this is ok, as it matches what I stated I was going to do in my plan of action statement in module 3, which I got 100% on.
I am still confused on the annotated bibliography section. I must of did it wrong and got graded down, but in Module 6 when we are suppose to put the entire paper together I am will be stuck without a correct bibliography.

Posting this question here because I don't want to start a new thread, and my searching skills on this site are terrible. I will finish my Capstone on October 27th and apply for graduation immediately. I will qualify for January conferral I believe? The next graduation date I qualify for is in March. When will TESC actually mail my diploma? January or March? ETA: the TESC site just says "mailed 10 days after graduation" so I guess that means I have to wait until March?
Thanks!

I got a 100 on the literary review/bibliography section if anyone needs help.
As to this course, I'm disappointed with it. The "mentor" has been anything but, and in fact has answered very few questions anyone asked and usually with a one-line response. I hope they aren't paying this person very much. The course is too vague and I feel I'm making shots in the dark on many things I turn in. Also, it lists 14 assignments yet Chapter 4 is due tomorrow and the mentor has only graded THREE, the first three chapters. No grades have been posted for any discussions or the ETS. Why even bother listing said grades if they won't be graded until the end?
This whole course just feels like it was slapped together to meet some state requirement for the school .
