I'm scheduled to start this class 1 March. What is it like? I read the sample syllabus that describes it as case studies and it says the midterm is I think just 5 essay questions over 3 hours? What is the class itself like?

Thanks.

The class is pretty cool man. I'm learning alot more than I thought I would. The reading is actually very interesting and the professor doesn't pass out A's or let you phone it in.

Every week there is a discussion topic, and though a couple of people in class don't really "read so good" I've had fun poking holes in other peoples arguements and having the same thing done to mind.

This weeks discussion was on evaluating the Diamler Chrylser merger of 1998. Why it failed and what could have been done differently. It took me about 45 mins. In addition to the discussion, you have to do a Case Study eval (4-6 pages) every week on various companies and their current fortunes or more interestingly misfortunes.

I really like what this class has done for me. I had planned on going to UIS and getting my Masters in Management of Info Systems. This class (and Office Space) as shown me that I hate strategic management, and would jump off of a bridge if I had to sit in meetings for 7 hours a day.

Plan now is to get my CISA, CEH and Backtrack Cert over the summer and fall. Then enroll in WGU for the Info Sec Masters.

Glad to see you guys are digging the TESC BSBA school work.
This management stuff is actually interesting. I began life as a die hard techie programmer and technician but over time I have come to appreciate the business strategy portion of the job. Its all related. Do what you love but don't be surprised if what you enjoy changes over time. I still write code but mostly at home or in my spare time at work. The rest of the time is in those meetings you and I both dread.

If you don't mind me asking Ryoder, what do you do for a living? I'm a Sr. Systems Analyst at a medical center.
