I've been trying to make sense of the myriad requirements for a BSBA at TESC, and I think I'm come up with a plan that allows me to domy LL with Straighterline and my UL with CLEP, DSST and TECEP. My main reason for preferring Straighterline is that I can do it from home at night, rather than scheduling time off work to take CLEP's, etc. since the testing center is only open during my office hours and not weekends.
I'm trying to avoid traditional classes and I won't be transferring in any credits so this will all be starting from zero.
My three concerns right now are:
Section 1A: Electives in Intellectual and Practical Skills - not sure what to use here.
Section 1D: General Education Electives - ditto. I put down a handful of SL's that I think will work, but want to make sure I'm on the right track.
Section 2B: Area of Study - you have to choose 3 of the 4 areas, and I'm more comfortable with Finance, Marketing and Management. I can't find many test-out options for these besides TECEP's. Does anyone know of any others?
Also, I want to say how grateful I am to everyone for posting on these forums. Without you nice folks, I'd surely have been so lost that I never would have attempted to set out on this path! So thanks
I don't think Personal finance will work as gen ed elective, you can substitute with SL Intro to criminal justice, US history II, or Western Civilization II.
Intellectual and practical skills elective, you can take DSST Technical writing.
I've never put together a BSBA plan but I know a lot of people use Penn Foster courses to fulfill certain requirements. You can do most of the coursework at home, and IF there is a proctored final, you might be able to have a co-worker or supervisor proctor you.

Did you consider FEMAs for free electives? They are free, self-paced, and don't require a proctored exam. The DSST for Intro to Computing is generally considered to be easier than CLEP Information Systems.

I just finished putting together my TESC BSBA Gen Management course outline. I'm still working out Section 1C but I'm pretty sure everything else is accurate. I'll have to look into Straighterline tonight. I like the idea of being able to do everything from home! Thankfully, my CLEP/DSST test center is open all day on Sundays.
Anyways, you can checkout my outline to see if it helps to guide you with your areas in question.

You'll have to inquire about CLEP being upper level. Most colleges view them as lower level courses.

I want to thank you all for the invaluable advice! I've revised my plan based on your feedback. (Here.) There may be some tweaks, such as doing FEMA for free electives, but right now I'm focused on getting some momentum by diving into these SL courses.
@joshh_
Have you checked with TESC admissions to see if your findings will truly work? I'm working up a plan with options including CLEP, DSST, ALEKS, and StraighterLine. Just trying to figure out how to get the vast majority of these classes done via testing.
I've got some pretty severe ADHD, so when a class isn't going at my pace I can't keep my head wrapped around it... On the other hand, crunching and testing -that's my speed. I'm *hoping* to get 80-90% of my classes done via testing, but I need to make sure I'm accounting for all my courses, including the upper level requirements. Keeping in mind:
Section II, Part B:
For this degree, 12 of these Credits must be at 300/400 level.
Must have at least 1 three-semester-hour course in 3 out of the 4 areas: Accounting, finance, management, marketing. (For example, 1 class in Accounting, 1 in finance and 1 in marketing would together satisfy the goal).
These classes must be above introductory level.
Section II: Part C: Business electives
Complete 9 or more semester hours from one of the four study areas: (accounting, finance, management, marketing)
12 semester hours within the specialization must be at 300/400 level
Can anyone verify the findings above, or suggest a plan that would provide the majority of courses be tested out? Section II Part B and C seem to be giving me the most grief here... BSBA in General Management Degree Program
