Some thoughts and concerns...
1. TESC never evaluated my AP West Civ score. I got a 5 on it, which according to ACE, would give me 6 history credits. Because TESC gave me 8 credits for my AP Chem score (of 4) per ACE's recommendation, I don't see why they wouldn't give me the AP West Civ credits.
2. I need to verify that the TEEX cybersecurity courses will be fine. According to this thread, as of 2015, TESC not only grants CIS credit for all 3 TEEX courses (2 credits each, only one of them upper level), but they'll override the 12-UL-credit-in-CIS requirement if you're only missing one UL credit. With my plan, I'd get 11 UL credits (the two CSU Global courses and the DSST MIS course for 9 credits, plus the TEEX Cybersecurity for IT pros for 2 credits). Anyone know who I should call to verify this???
3. My first TESC academic eval that came with my application has some courses mixed up... I only have my AP and B&M credits evaluated thus far, and they put 11 credits in the 9-credit-requirement for interdisciplinary electives. I'm going to have them move courses around to tidy up my academic evaluation and make sure I don't need to take more courses as needed. Once again, anyone know who I should contact for this?
Granted, I applied but I'm not enrolled yet.

I submitted a help desk ticket to TESC about my first two concerns. When I submit the rest of my transcripts, I'll worry about the 3rd concern. I'll keep you guys updated when I hear back. Also, I've read that the TESC help desk folks can sometimes give wrong information or be stubborn, so I guess I should plan on calling them too just in case.

Alright, I still haven't heard back from TESC... I hope my help desk ticket didn't get deleted or ignored. I might resend it or give them a call.

I'm starting a plan for the BSBA CIS. I am using yours and Sanatones guides to come up with one. Is there anything you would change if you did again?
Have you done anything with the clep PSyc?

TESC would not grant me an exemption for the 1 credit needed, even though I had numerous extra LL credits in my Area of study. I even escalated the issue, and was still denied. I would not count on this unless you get approval in writing. I know one student had luck with it, but I did not. I believe sanantone ran into the same issue, but she will need to verify this.
The cloud computing cbe at CSUG I recommend highly. Or an alternative is the Cyber Security DSST which counts as 3 UL credits, however it does overlap with the TEEX courses.
SL's programming course counts as 4 credits, and is easily doable.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

mpie18 - have you considering the Networking TECEP? If you have Network+ level knowledge it should be easy.

I was automatically granted an exception. I don't know if the system did it, or if a particular advisor or employee in the registrar did it.

The Cybersecurity DSST seems to be about on par with Security+ for breadth of knowledge and info required. If you don't have a solid grounding in it's concepts, I strongly suggest pursuing UL credit elsewhere. I'd been studying for Sec+ and Cybersecurity DSST for awhile and passed by the skin of my teeth (400, exactly the minimum).
Pursuing TESC BSBA CIS: ~100/120

AMU: Public Speaking, History of Explosive Ordnance Disposal, College Algebra
ALS (CCAF): Leadership/Management I, Managerial Communication I, Military Studies I
Sophia: Microeconomics
Straighterline: Accounting I/II
TECEP: English Comp I/II, Computer Concepts & Applications, Applied Liberal Arts Mathematics, Strategic Management (March 2017 Semester)

I'm leaving psych for the end as that will fill my elective credit.

Then it looks like I will proceed as if they won't grant me credit exception. mednat, does SL's course transcribe as UL credit? Would you recommend the TECEP Networking or CSU Global Cloud Computing? Also, what did the CSU transcribe as? Does it overlap with any other CIS course?
ajs1976 Wrote:mpie18 - have you considering the Networking TECEP? If you have Network+ level knowledge it should be easy.
I'm considering it now since it seem that TESC will probably not grant me an exemption for the missing UL credit. I Think I'll do SL progamming, CSU Global for the two information systems courses, either the Networking TECEP or the CSU Global Cloud Computing, DSST MIS, and 2 of the 3 TEEX's (for 19 credits total, 14 UL).
I don't have prior experience with networking, although I am somewhat familiar with the tech as I was kinda geeky with computers as a kid.

I will not be doing the Cybersecurity DSST. Any thoughts on the CSU Global Cloud Computing course, as well as TECEP Networking?
