If those courses at SHSU were called Accounting I and Accounting II, then they aren't the equivalent of intermediate accounting anywhere. They are the equivalent of financial and managerial accounting at TESC. SL'S Accounting I and II are the equivalent of Financial and Managerial Accounting at TESC. SL Financial Accounting is Intermediate Accounting I, and SL Managerial Accounting is Cost Accounting. I know those are strange equivalencies for the financial and managerial courses, but that's what TESC has decided. The managerial accounting course cannot count as managerial accounting. TESC also never allows a course to fulfill two requirements.

There is a TECEP for Federal Income Taxation that is open book and $100 cheaper than the CSU Global CBE. If you haven't already applied, TESC's BSBA programs have changed. There is no longer room for 9 business electives, and all of their BSBA pages have errors. There are too many credits.

I believe the Penn foster course has ACE approval.
**EDIT**
It does. I would just make sure you check before you take the course, as it changes from time to time.

Thank you both. Sanantone how was your experience taking an exam at CSU CBE. Are the fees truly only $250 per exam and did the material on your test follow the book/study guide well?

Yes, they are $250. I described my experiences in a couple of threads.

Great threads and write ups! Really helpful information! I do have a few questions:
-once you pay the 250 how long do you have until you are forced to take the exam?
-could I buy the book now and start reading and stufying?
-does the 250 include the proctor fee?
-have you heard any reviews on the CBE for any accounting exams?
-any advice/tips?

Hi Sanantone, will TESC allow me to transfer some of my MBA credits towards the BSBA in Accounting program? I have some management and and Finance Management courses. And I also completed a capstone that involved a whole section in accounting and finance and I was also part of an online business simulation that dealt heavily with Financial reviews of the balance sheets/income statements. Do you think TESC would accept and transfer my capstone and count it towards one of the upper level accounting courses?
Thanks for all your help and advice.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
