TESC - BA in English - Need help deciding what courses & CLEP exams I should take
#1
Hi all,

I'm really hoping that any current or former TESC students are on that can help me with this. I have 15 credits from University of Phoenix that I'm moving to TESC but TESC hasn't told me yet where they are going to put them. They are GEN101, SOC101, SOC102, COMM101 & COMM102.

Since I have to decide by Tuesday what courses I will be taking at TESC in March and I don't want to duplicate any of my efforts when I go for clep exams (not sure which ones I will take yet). Can anyone give me any idea where I can safely start with TESC & clep?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Amy

I don't have any idea how your UoP courses will transfer, but this page explains how TESC will apply CLEP and DSST tests Undergraduate Ways to Earn Credit - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMS

I've been reading through the past posts & I have another question about ALEKS. Does TESC accept ALEKS for chemistry? If so, which one?
#4
No, ALEKS Chemistry is not accepted by TESC. Look at either CLEP or Straighterline for that.
#5
Ok thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately. I really wish that ALEKS would get their Chemistry course ACE-approved. I'd take it if they did this.

Hey Irish John,

I see that you took the same ALEKS courses I'm thinking about taking. It's been over 20 years since I had Algebra & trig, how hard where the ALEKS tests for you?

Ok, after looking over all my choices I think I've got my plan of attack for my courses mapped out. I'm assuming for now that my 15 credits will be dumped into Free Electives. If that turns out not to be the case I can always adjust things out from there. If someone could take a peek at this & let me know if I've made any mistakes on what courses go where, I'd appreciate it. :-)

Pure unmitigated torture, and that was the good part of 'em! Naah, actually they weren't too bad. It just took me many, many hours to finish each course. It's been about as long for me since I last took a math course and I never was very good at it. I doubt I would have finished if it weren't for something like ALEKS.
