TESC BA Liberal Studies...
#1
Hello Everyone,
As you know, I have been trying to design my degree path to a BA in liberal studies with TESC. They haven't been a big help since I applied, and time is not on my side. We will be moving at the end of the year, and while my experience has put me on the "equivalent experience" side, I don't want not having a Bachelors to exclude me from any opportunities. From looking at my transcripts, most of the credits I have left to earn have to come from two or more general education subject areas (33 credits). Since most of my credits come from Social Sciences and Humanities, I will stick with these two. So here is my question.....

When looking at TESC's examination credits through testing, there are some exams that are considered Human Services, and Business. Since some of these are upper level according to TESC, do you think they would fall under the Social Science, Humanities subject area? I am particularly interested in Fundamentals of Counseling, Human Resource Mgt, Foundations of Education, etc.

I have been researching this for quite a while using the search engine on here and degreeinfo.com and can't seem to find any answers. Sorry for the long post but I really need some help......Sad

Thank You!!!

I have a friend majoring in Social Sciences and History through TESC. For her degree she is taking Counseling, and considered Foundations of Education. I took HRM for credits, but since I switched to a Humanities degree (from Business) it only counts for electives. : ( For my Humanities section under General Ed. I put in Economics (macro and micro), psychology and sociology. Org. Behavior might fit under that too. Hope that helps a little.

If you check the TESC course catalogue, you'll see what an individual test transfers in as. You'll also want to make an appointment with a TESC advisor to get specific help with your specific plan.

Thank you for the input. I have been waiting and waiting. If I wait any longer, I will never finish. I know what the majority of credits will transfer into but there are sections such as Human services which I am not sure goes under a particular section.

Now that I think about it, you may not even need an appointment for this type of question. It seems so simple that you should be able to call and speak to someone right away.

I did that just recently with TESC --- I called in and spoke to someone right away about something specific to my degree and they obliged with an answer.

I have been trying to contact them, but like the others say if you don't pay money, you don't get any answers. I will try again and let you guys know what they say. Thank you again.
