I'm checking for my cousin- has anyone done the Aviation degree through TESC? I'm guessing it's not totally online. How many credits are required on campus, if any? If this isn't totally online does anyone know of any reasonably priced online schools that are. We understand that he needs hands on for flying, as he already has that under his belt.

The only first hand experience I have with this is a close friend of mine's experience. Though he opted not to pursue the degree, when he applied, they gave him 6 credits for his pilot's license. I can find out, but whatever level of licenses there are, his was the very basic first one you get- he was brand new, so if your cousin has flight experience and licenses, I'm sure he will be awarded credit for all of them.

The other note on this is that they only teach nursing courses on campus. If the coursework needed is not available online then it must be transferred in. They have three different programs with aviation and so the requirements will vary based on whether your cousin is exploring aviation flight technology, aviation maintenance technology, or aviation support.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

I am currently enrolled double major in flight and maintenance. From reading your posts I am guessing, flight major. At TESC you must be at a minimum an instrument rated comm pilot. ATP preferred. Where is he at in his flight training?

I think it's more geared towards experienced pilots. I'm an airline pilot and was given 43 credits for my ATP, another 4 for having a specific type rating and another 6 for being a captain in a part 121 operation.
The degree program is a BSAST. I elected to switch to a BA and lose 20 of my granted credits due to the difficult to fill physics requirement.
If your friend is just a private pilot and is wanting to work his way up to a commercial and instrument rating, TESC won't help. If he's already an experienced pilot looking to check the degree box for a major airline application, TESC would be a good choice.
