TESC Associates of Arts Plan. Help Needed
#1
Hello Folks,

So initially I intended to enroll at WGU, but I found TESC to be a MUCH better option. My goal in to complete the 2 year associates degree by August of 2012. Here's my tentative degree plan. How does it look?

Maybe it's just my computer, but I can't see a single word when I open it, it's too small? Can you just type it in your post?

I did 6 months at WGU and am currently slated to re-start in January unless I find TESC a more viable route.. I have my reasons why I *think* TESC is the better option. But what is/are your reasons?

Looks OK to me (cook you can click it to magnify it, at least in my browser) but it is very difficult to read, very pixellated.

It looks like you are doing two bio sciences instead of one plus one computer test. FYI I believe "computer science" in this sense is something as simple as the basic computer CLEP/DSST tests, not "real" computer science, so that may give you another option.

Also, see these for more info on equivalency options:

I agree with dcan, review the credit equivalency documents. It also might be a good idea for you to refer to both the degree planner and college catalog.
TESC degree planning handbook: http://www.tesc.edu/files/DegreePlanningHandbook.pdf
TESC catalog: http://www.tesc.edu/files/Catalog2011.12.pdf

A.OK

B. Humanities
The only hum course you have is business comm.
Consider dsst tech writing eng201 and clep A&I LIT 291/292

C. OK

D. Natural science:
medical terminology is a free elective.
You can use COS101 dsst intro to computing and either CLEP MAT 102/103 or ALEKS intermediate and college to fill this section.

E. Gen Ed
Accounting is a business course (will drop to free elective) as is intro to business.
Here you can use courses in the NS/M, Hum, SocSci categories, for example: intro to criminal justice, us history, western civ, biology or aleks courses mentioned above.

F. Free Electives,
Accounting 1&2, FEMA’s, Intro to Business, Med Terminology, and Personal Finance.

I'm happy you are getting help. Guys I still can't open it larger than (literally) 3 inches. That's fine thought, he's in good hands.

Jennifer,

When I open the file I also see the little pic. When I hover over it with my cursor, it then turns into the magnifying tool -- then click on the pic and it enlarges.

That worked! Cool, thanks!

I'll confirm that there are some problems with the road map.
Humanities- western civ is a social science, you'll need to choose from arts, music, literature, or the humanities heading on the CLEP list
Also, med term is NOT a gen ed course and neither is business- both are free electives DO NOT TAKE THESE unless you have an interest in the material. FEMA can be used for $0.00 in their place. You'll need some gen ed replacements.

I'm going with TESC because it is more cost efficient. They also have a great transfer policy and they offer an Associates. TESC also has a wider range of programs which also piqued my interest.
