TESC 2nd Degree - Requirements re Credits Beyond Academic Evaluation Specification
#1
Hello,

I have just finished the academic requirements for a BSBA from TESC. Earning a second bachelor's is of interest. When I run an academic evaluation for a BA in Natural Sciences/Mathematics, I'm shown that I need to earn 18 core credits. However, I also know that TESC's policy is that I need at least 24 new credits earned after graduation in my core area to qualify for a second degree.

24 credits - 18 credits = 6 credits

Are there any restrictions/requirements as to the remaining 6 credits that are not required by the below academic evaluation but are required by TESC's policy, other then the qualifier that they must be in the core subject areas? In particular, can they be 100-level credits?

Thank you,
Ben

I think you have already done your 6 credits at 100 level with the Bio courses, if those can be moved elsewhere (like into section E natural sciences ). Then I believe you can do 6 credits in 100 level in the concentration. That seems to be what they did for me., but I could be wrong

also, ask about a second major vs second degree. That might change the way you approach this.
#4
Thank you both for your input. Since my first degree is a BSBA, it looks like a BA in Natural Sciences/Mathematics can't be added as a second major because it is of a different degree type.

What if you have credits that were not used for your first degree but were taken before you got your first degree?
Can those be used as part of the 24 credits?
#6
I think you'll find that the 24 credits have to be earned after the first bachelor's was conferred.

Yes all credits for a second BA or BS have to be earned after the first was conferred. If you are still enrolled you should make an appointment with advising and they will tell you where things can be moved.
