Survey of World Literature?
#1
My question is: I am required to take Survey of World Literature I or II (English Literature 225 or 226)to complete my degree but when I look at the course list on this website it does not have English Literature or American Literature as one of the options to study in the course list. So does anyone know what I should study in the course list or is this something that Instant Cert does not offer. Thank you for any help. H

Unfortunately. Instantcert does not yet have American or English Literature, but you may find the literature and drama sections for the CLEP Humanities exam helpful, but it probably won't be quite enough for the CLEP American and English Lit. exams. Check out the exam specific feedback threads for those. For outside sources, here's some:

American Lit:

American literature - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Resource: American Passages: A Literary Survey

Literature Project - Online Hypertext - Recommended eBooks

English Lit:

English literature - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Norton Anthology of English Literature: Home

Luminarium: Anthology of English Literature

I also recommend the Barron's EZ-101 study keys, these books are tight, with hardly any fluff at all. I find it helpful to read a bit of each author's famous works, even if I just skim it or just closely read the first and last chapters. I bought some used anthologies (Norton, Longman, and Oxford) for this which has been very handy to have writings from many authors in one book and cut down on my book costs.

Good luck!
