Study.com, TESU Evaluation & Residency
#31
@dbrown2258, You should review my posts #4 and #9 of this thread if you're planning on continuing with TESU for the AS Comp Science. After reviewing it, you can take a look at your previous thread, also your post #4 and my reply post #9... Remember, you've retired, you're looking at completing this as affordable, easy, fast, and basically want that 'paper'.

If you are a PR/US Citizen, my suggestion in that post #9 was to get the Pierpont BOG AAS with an Info System emphasis, it's pretty much identical to the one from TESU. I repeat, focus on your degree plan, get all the requirements completed, apply and get those evaluated (skip TESU if you want to save the cash, energy, time). You need to decide which way to go.

So, OP, if you want to save time and money and get the Pierpont AAS, and not enroll at TESU, then do that.  BUT, if you are even considering enrolling at TESU, then the sooner the better.  There was a time when we said to wait, but that time has long since passed, and no good can come of waiting at TESU.  There is 100% downside to do this.

Exactly, you really need to decide on the degree and plan for that. So, Pierpont is just going to cost a nominal fee for transcripts, it's free on Pierpont's side... if you have nothing else to send them except your Sophia.org/Study.com and whichever college you've attended, it can cost less than a couple hundred. You don't have to take a college course towards that Pierpont AAS if you already have graded credits from previously. Compare that to just the cost of the Cornerstone at TESU, it's $1500+ if you're out of state and you have to pay the residency waiver fee of $3200+... you tell me, again, if you want cheaper, easier, faster or the opposite.

It's worth noting that just getting enrolled at TESU is only another $50 change to enrolled status, so there's no harm in doing so if you are on the fence, and want to see your credits on a TESU transcript while you are deciding.
