TESU Evaluation - dbrown2258 - 02-28-2023 Hello all. I am a new member. I have recently applied to TESU for a transfer credit evaluation for an Associate's in Computer Science. I just received my initial evaluation back and would like some help with the comments. How do I get my Credly stuff to show up on the ACE transcript or get an ACE badge for Credly credits? Thanks. 02/27/23 We recently received an official transcript from Credly/Acclaim. Thomas Edison State University will accept in transfer most ACE reviewed courses/exams on the transcript that include both a badge from the offering organization as well as an ACE badge. Since there was no ACE badge included for the following items, credit was not added to your record. Please request an updated transcript be sent to transcripts @tesu.edu for the following: CompTIA A+ Certification CompTIA Network+ Certification CompTIA IT Operations Specialist CIOS Stackable Certification CompTIA Server+ Certification CompTIA Network Infrastructure Professional - CNIP Stackable Cert Microsoft MTA: Windows Server Administration Fund. - Certified 2019 VMware Certified Associate - Digital Business Transformation 2020 TESU Evaluation - jch - 02-28-2023 For CompTIA, transcripts must be sent directly from CompTIA to TESU. Only your Network+ certification is worth TESU credit at this time. See the equivalencies and instructions here: https://www2.tesu.edu/oplr/company.php?client=CompTIA RE: TESU Evaluation - rachel83az - 02-28-2023 Your MS one doesn't seem to be worth TESU credit either. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to send it to them following the instructions here: https://www2.tesu.edu/oplr/company.php?client=Microsoft Out of curiosity, why the Comp Sci Associate? It's kind of an expensive Associate unless you're also graduating with a Bachelor's degree at the exact same time. I'm retired so not needed for work advancement. I have a lot of computer related training and I have worked in this field for a long time and just never got a degree. I figured all of my training, certs, and experience would just about warrant me enough credits for an associate's degree. I was planning on just doing a couple Study.com courses to make up the difference so as not to spend too much money. I don't really want to put in the effort it would take for 120 credits. RE: TESU Evaluation - rachel83az - 02-28-2023 Depending on what you already have, it might not be that much more effort to get the needed credits from Sophia/SDC to get the Bachelor's degree. And the cost would be roughly the same. TESU Residency Requirement - dbrown2258 - 03-01-2023 Is there a residency waiver fee at TESU so as not to have to take 16 credits minimum at their school and if so, how does it work? Thanks. RE: TESU Residency Requirement - davewill - 03-01-2023 If you don't want to take 16 credits, then you pay $3,288 just before you graduate. Further details at: https://www.tesu.edu/tuition/fees You still have to take the cornerstone and capstone courses, there's no way around that. If you're getting the BACS, you can take the cornerstone for a reduced price through edX. RE: TESU Residency Requirement - rachel83az - 03-02-2023 If you want to do the BACS + BSBA CIS or BACS + BA Math (or BACS + any other BA degree), you'd want to make an advising appointment with Don Stolz to confirm whether the edX cornerstone would count for the other degree or only for the BACS. RE: TESU Evaluation - bjcheung77 - 03-03-2023 Hey dbrown2258, are you planning to get a Bachelor later on? Basically, you may want to fill in the template and last post addendum here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works This addendum & template is used to provide us very important details and information about your situation, with this info, we can help you further. Do you have a back up plan? For example, do you have to get the AS Comp Sci, would an AAS Info Systems work for you instead? If it would work, it's best to get the Pierpont BOG AAS with an Info Systems emphasis. You can always ladder that up to a BLS with MIS minor later at UMPI if you ever wanted to ladder upwards toward a Bachelors. RE: TESU Residency Requirement - bjcheung77 - 03-03-2023 You can skip the 16 residency credits by paying the fee, or for some people, they take the 16 credits... see options below.
