The scholarship kicks in on the 1st of the month that you were invited whether you start using it then or not. It runs for 3 months (6 exams @ 2 per month) from that date. You have until the end of the 3rd month to complete the Personal Finance course. Any exams you have remaining after that can be used to take whatever other courses you like, but no other courses on Study.com should be touched until the Personal Finance course is completed.

If you already have an existing Study.com account, you should be able to apply the code to your account and it will override your existing subscription, which I assume would pick back up after the scholarship is complete. However, once you add the scholarship you're not allowed to work on anything else before finishing Personal Finance. So if you're in the middle of something else, you have to pause it until the PF course final exam is completed.

So, yes you can wait until your current subscription is done, but you'll miss the first month of the scholarship.

At least that summarizes what I was told by Study.com when I asked similar questions. You should probably contact them yourself to confirm.

Someone here posted that you can merge the two - there is a code in the scholarship email that you give to Study.com.  I'd assume it would pause your paid subscription.  I would recommend merging into one Study.com account, for two reasons - #1 that you want any course material covered crossover to count and especially #2 since TESU now requires the transcript to come directly from Study.com.  Honestly, can you imagine the possible delays, errors and confusion at TESU getting two different transcripts from two different user Study.com accounts and telling them that is really is the same student.

Merging is a confusing term since you cannot merge two accounts. However, you can apply the scholarship code to an existing Study.com account instead of creating a second account. That is what I was referring to in my prior message. From what I was told, doing so will override your existing subscription (in effect, pausing it) but I don't know the specifics of how that works.

Agreed that having two accounts can be a pain. But there are pros and cons... On the positive side, having a second Study.com account would allow you to take more than 2 exams per month since the scholarship plan doesn't allow it. On the negative side, you have to deal with the logistics of having two accounts for transcript purposes. However, I think this is more of an issue for ACE than a college like TESU since you need a second email address for a second Study.com account and ACE requires email to match as part of the validation, while TESU doesn't care about email. So as long as everything else matches, TESU should be fine with multiple transcripts from the same credit source. It would also be annoying to lose the overlap on quiz completion, but that wouldn't be too big of a deal to me since I find I have to revisit the material that overlaps when studying for a new course anyway.

I had two accounts and never had issues with email addresses or transcripts. It allowed me to take a lot of extra courses in a month. I took courses on the one account that I knew wouldn't have overlap anywhere else and on the other I took all the similar courses so I didn't lose that benefit.
