How is the NAU program so far? I'm conisering it after my BA in CS.

Hey,
Yes, my plan is to do discrete math, intro to operating systems, computer arch, capstone in feb then start NAU MCIT while I let the 1-year clock run out, see if study.com adds data structure or intro to prog.
Unfortunately, when I applied to NAU the Application Specialization was not available so I decided to wait, they launch it in oct, but while I was waiting I applied to Upenn MCIT, and I got in! but with my work and kids, right now there is no way I can dedicate a specific amount of hours per weeks, so I decided to not go for it, competency-based programs are a better fit for me.
I was able to get in touch with a student in the MCIT, I can send you in private what he told me, but basically, it's a LOT of writing, much longer than WGU courses

For Intro to Operating Systems, I am on the last two chapters and will do the final tonight, for one of the quizzes, I am #43 in the number of views! I guess this is a really new course. I am thinking of doing the Operating Systems course as I am about halfway with the course without laying a finger on it, I'll only complete it when it gets UL recommendation and TESU transfers it that way. Onto the next courses, MIS and Database Management tomorrow! Woohoo for Study.com UL courses!

@bjchenung77 did SDC fix the final assignment for the Operating Systems course? Can you complete the final assignment?
I did the final for intro to OS yesterday, intro to OS was MUCH easier than the Operating Systems course.
@posabsolute Unless I get an H1B sponsor after I finsh my BA in CS anf get a job there. There is NO WAY I can afford UPenn, even NAU is stretching it for me. I was thinking of Aspen university since they provide monthly payment plan, and I can do my doctorate with aspen as well. Low monthly payment doctorate and masters is what I need.

Intro to Operating Systems completed today - currently at 79% of Operating Systems (49/62 quizzes). I'll get this one done today and then work on the assignments tomorrow. I'll let you know if I can complete the assignments or not for Operating Systems. I will not finish the assignment as I am waiting for this to be UL and then to see if TESU will take it as UL... *fingers crossed*, otherwise I'll just take another CS course.

@bjcheung cool! Looking forward to it! But at 79% complete you already passed the chapter the final is based on. It is just the final assignment for me to od as well.

LOL, Interesting, I've completed both courses CS105 Intro to OS and CS305 Operating Systems. There are two assignments for Operating Systems, what's the error you're getting? I can access both links fine. I'll try to see what happens and work on the final assignments (which is coding for both it seems...woohoo, my weak spot!)
Assignment 1
In this project, you will use the what you have studied in the chapter Memory Management & Operating Systems to emulate how operating systems manage memory paging, allocation, deallocation and replacement. Upon completion of this project you will be able to:
Describe how operating systems manage memory
Use simple codes to emulate basic functionalities of operating systems
Sources
This assignment covers material presented in the chapter 'Memory Management & Operating Systems'. You can refer particularly to the following lessons in order to help you working through your solution:
Memory Allocation Schemes: Definition & Uses
Paged Memory Allocation: Definition, Purpose & Structure
Memory Deallocation: Definition & Purpose
Page Replacement: Definition & Algorithms
Memory Management (MEM) Coding: Analysis & Example
Assignment 2
In this project, you will write code that emulates how operating systems manage interaction between files and memory. The code you are writing will be functions that provide interaction between the code you have seen in the chapters Memory Management & Operating Systems and File Management Systems. As the functionality you are developing is file management related, you are required to develop your code as methods in the file management class. Upon completion of this project you will be able to:
Describe how operating systems manage files in memory
Write simple codes to emulate basic functionalities of operating systems
Prompt
In this project, assume that files are stored on the hard disk using linked storage allocation. Your task is to write a code that:
Collects information about all the fragments of the file from the hard disc in order to calculate the total required space needed for the file in memory
Calculates the space required to store the file in memory (For simplicity, you can assume that this space equals only to the total size of the file. Do not consider other related metadata)
Allocates space in memory for the file. If needed, you can use the code you wrote in Assignment 1: Solving Memory Management Problems to liberate space in memory

I wonder if they fixed it, cause when I took it the practical would not compile. I had to fix errors in the practical provided and filed a complaint.
I also completed both. Its just the final assignment for Operating Systems I still honestly am not sure what to do even after fixing the code examples and gettng it to run and putting the values in the table, I dont understand what they are asling for. A little vague for me.

Hello, For the programming courses, which ones are transferable to TESU? I think someone mentioned Intro to JAVA was not accepted for transfer at TESU, yet it is recommended for college credit. Should I just take the C and C++? Would the C++ course be duplicate credit as I am doing that with Straighterline.
Goals: TESU BSBA GM (Added CIS) and BA Computer Science
BSBA GM - Added CIS AOS (CIS & GM completed)
BACS & Grad Plans (BACS instead of BALS w/NSM)
AAS ACS & ESST: Remaining - Associate Capstone
ASNSM CS: Completed, ASNSM Math: Remaining - Calculus I
Taking a majority of credits at Sophia.org, SL, and Study.com to finish these degrees
Updating my courses remaining by following forum advice, guide, spreadsheet & wiki
