I've been trying to decide on doing Straightliner or Study.com
Can anyone who has done both say what is easier? The cost breakdown is pretty much decent on all these methods. CLEP $33.3 CR/hr study.com 1Month - $200 6CR / (all fees and proctor included) 3 Month - $600 18cr $33/credit hr 1 Year - $990 discounted / 72 CR / $13.75 CR/hr Straightliner - 1 Month $100+50+50 (2 subjects) 6 CR / 2 Month $200+$50x6 =$500 (6 subjects in 2 months) 18CR $27.8/credit hr I know people can finish 8 SL courses in a month, but I calculated a reasonable timeline which was 6 courses in 2 months, while calculating the max allowed (6 CR per month) for study.com Study.com is pretty much on par (cost wise) with CLEPs @ $33 per Credit hour, while SL is slightly cheaper doing 3 courses in a month and on point with study.com if doing 2 courses. If you really want to compare, study also has a discount code for 1 year where the price drops to $990, which is $13.75 CR/HR, if you do complete 72 credits (which is pretty unlikely unless you are starting at 0 credits). So the real question is; which program is more easier to do? SL or study.com

I haven't done either so I can't help you. But you might also add that study.com has other things you can take advantage of while you're there - you can actually study for CLEP/DSST exams in addition to any study.com courses you take an exam for.

This. If you are taking any other exams apart from Study.com you can get a TON of resources, videos and practice quizzes/exams to take advantage of for CLEP, DSST and ECE exams

for those using study.com, I have a price question. It says you need the $199 accelerator program to test, but it also says you can change your plan at anytime. So, since I have 2 kids doing this in Jan/Feb, I'm wondering if it makes sense to do the cheaper plan in Jan and then switch to the accelerator program in Feb? Also, if I do that and decide to continue with them for the Mar/April months, can I do it again? And then just keep doing that? The "swapping" approach would cost me $1800 for both kids through the end of the school year, while the accelerator program would be $2400 but I would then just do the coupon... I don't know, is billing easy to change?

All other cheaper plans don't let you get the credits. PM your email address and I can get a discount code sent to you for 20% off the first month
