I've taken 5 exams (and passed them all) so far this month. I tried to sign up for a 6th exam today for the LAST class I need to take before I begin UMPI and it says I can only take 5 exams in a month. I think that is total BS and predatory especially for someone who is paying out of pocket for all of their college expenses. Had I known I could not take more than 5 in a month I would have waited to take the exams on my 5th and 6th classes when my next billing cycle starts in 7 days. Has anyone successfully lobbied for Study.com to lift this limit for them?

Nope, sorry, it's in their terms/FAQ and we mention it a lot here. They will not lift that limit for anyone.

@joshua27, they didn't have a limit previously, they only added that requirement as many people (including members on the board) were trying to complete too many at once. For ACE recommendation credit, I think there were some requirements that were added and restricted them from allowing people to get too many credits too quickly.
When they implemented the change, I did 7 in a month once, but that's because of a 'billing date overlap'. The system allowed me to do so as I completed 5 exams on the last week of the billing month, then completed two more exams the first week of the second billing month, but it was all within the "30 day month".

Of course you can do as many as 10 exams in a single calendar month. But you CANNOT do more than 5 exams in a single billing period.

Yeah, the billing period is what I'm referring to. I should have been more clear. That said, this requirement is just predatory in my opinion. They are trying to extract more subscription fees out of students. If there was an issue with ACE credits then I wouldn't have been able to do 16 classes on Sophia.org in 1 billing period/month. Once I get this last exam done I will never use Study.com again solely based off this interaction with them.

Please don't make any assumptions or turn to anger. In my experience their customer service is excellent, as they seem to review problems on a case-by-case basis. I would reach out to them now, politely explain your misunderstanding of the policy, and ask them if it's possible to get a refund of your extra $70 exam fee after your next month's subscription charge goes through. Regardless of the outcome, keep in mind that while Study.com is not on the level of Sophia for per-course value, they provide many UL courses that can't be found anywhere else, so even $199 for a single course is a great deal.

Around the same time this policy was instituted, there was another provider (name escapes me at the moment) that people here were using to scoop up large numbers of ACE credits in very short time periods. TESU (and eventually others) pretty quickly decided to refuse to accept their credits. I do believe that SDC's policy was a direct response to that.

Gezundheit!
Yes, that was the one. I knew it was a silly sounding name starting with S.
