Ok so I’ve been studying now for about a week. I have taken all of the Peterson Practice Exams and received the following scores: Test 1: 64, Test 2: 64, Test 3: 47. I really want to take the test on Friday but the score for test 3 threw my confidence a bit. Over half of the questions during the third test, I don't remember even reviewing during my studies. The biggest problems I seem to be having are:
1. Looking at a picture and determining whether it is a lipid, steroid, protein, or sugar (some questions ask what kind of sugar or protein things are too???)
2. Neurons and chemical reactions within them
3. Names, Names, Names!
It seems I can fumble my way through a lot, because I can recognize names of things and associate what area they are talking about, but with these scores and reviewing the information I messed on the practiced tests do you think I should be good enough to pass?
This is my last class to close out my Associates with Pikes Peak and Graduation registration end November 15th so time is ticking to get my results in on time!
Thanks

Okay, I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I got 44, 57, and 50 on my peterson scores when I did biology. I ended up getting a 65 on the real thing. It sounds like you are doing pretty well. What type of resources have you been using to study? I would continue to review what you got wrong and study until Friday. If you haven't already, you might want to check out this link. Biology CLEP - Free study guide! - Free-Clep-Prep.com Don't let it make you nervous! You can do it!
Good luck with your test!

Thanks for your reply!
I have all types of resouces that I have used, from Free-Clep-Prep, InstantCert, Biology AP, and Biology Flashcards. I have to be honest though most of my studing has concentrated using Youtube videos from Crash Course, and Brightstorm (username:brightstorm2). They seem to put things in perspective a little better for me than what I read. I haven't taken the practice test on free-clep-prep yet so I will save that for Thursday if I get a respectable score then i'll take the test on Friday.
Can anyone give me an idea of what a decent score would be for that practice test?

Those are fine scores, especially coming from the petersons for biology! I scored a 63%, 53%, and 39% on mine. I actually took the 3rd test the night before my exam and it freaked me out so much I only spent about 2 hours sleeping. Bad move, wouldn't recommend it, though I did pass the real thing with a 65. The petersons PTs are harder. But, make sure you read through ALL the explanations. Also, on Free-CLEP-Prep, in addition to his study guide that he has, he also has come out with a full length, accurate, PT ( Free Clep Prep).
If you haven't already, read through the Specific Exam feedback on here. It's length, but packed with info. Khan Academy has some biology videos that may help you out too. Biology | Khan Academy
Good Luck!
