Hello!
I was curious to know which program did many of you use through Straighterline? I've read so many posts that state that individuals have taken upwards of 12 in as little as 30 days. The one I was interested in is the $99 a month, but you have to pay $39 for each course, so if o keep this plan, for 10 courses, I'd almost pay $500 (including $99). I am still AD USAF and would love to use TA for this, but I don't think it applies. Can someone please provide some suggestions as to which program is the best bang for your buck? I don't want to appear cheap, just want to get my money's worth. Thanks in advance.

You have to determine how many courses you think you can take in a certain time and do the math. I usually do the $99 per month plus $39 per course. If I plan to take four courses, I will get the textbooks first and read them all. Then I will sign up for the $99 per month, pay the $39 times four courses and take the courses. Then I will cancel the monthly subscription so I just paid for one month. I have to plan the courses in my down time which varies so this works for me. This comes out to about $21 per credit. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. It does pay to buy the electronic versions of any textbooks so you can search them when doing assignments, etc. Even if you only do one course per month at $99+39 that is still under $50 per credit!

Are you able to take CLEP and DSST exams for free through the military?

I think the 99 per month and 39 per course is the best bet after you have done CLEP/DSST tests.
The costs are extremely low when compared to other options. Especially when you factor in your time. Take your hourly pay and be sure to calculate in any time savings you get by CLEPing or doing Straighterline.com.

Thank you all for your replies. Each one of your comments make sense and I will tread wisely. I am still taking some CLEPs since they are free. I just have to take a Math class (since I did not pass the CLEP) for my CCAF AAS and for a $138, it seemed to be a great option instead of waiting until November to start the class at AMU.
