Straighterline Accounting Book Problem
#1
Ok, so I'm starting to get a little irritated. I'm planning on taking Accounting I and II with straighterline in a few weeks. I would have started it already, but I accidently received the wrong book. I needed Fundamental Accounting Principles, I received Principles of Financial Accounting. Both had the same cover and two out of the three authors and I looked up the book by entering in the ISDN provided by straighterline into textbooks.com. I thought that I did everything right, but I figured that I might have gotten misdirected somewhere, so I chalked the whole thing up to a mistake on my end.

So, I reordered the book from textbooks.com again, using the ISDN and I was VERY careful to make sure I had the right version this time. I just received the book and it's called Fundamental Accounting Principles and it claims to the the 19e, BUT instead of the authors being Wild, Larson, and Chiappetta as listed by straighterline, the authors are Wild, Shaw, and Chiappetta, like the first book I ordered! The ISDN DOES match the one provided by straighterline, but when I look at the course syllabus, it doesn't look like the chapters match up!

I'm hoping someone who has taken the course lately can clarify if I have the right book or not. I know that it probably has essentially the right information, but I was trying to make the courses as easy on myself as possible, and it seemed to be the way to do that was to have the exact textbook. But getting the exact textbook they're looking for seems to be almost impossible.

Also, this book has 25 chapters, to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with.

I ordered my Text for Fundamental Accounting Principles from Amazon used for like $10. And yeah it was pretty beat up, but it was all complete.

It was a rev older than the current text, but it worked fine.

Hi jackbanta,

You may have the complete book used for Straighterline Financial Accounting and Managerial accounting.

The books I got were split in 2. Book 1 for Fin-Acct was chapters 1 through 10 (or something) and the remainder we for Managerial Accounting.

I have since sold all these books, so can't speak to them currently, but i did think it was odd that the original text was split rather than just being sold together.

Hope this helps!

Just thought I'd update this thread in case someone has the issue I had in the future.... I do have the right book, which is the full text for both Accounting I and II. Nevermind about the authors, the pages match up.
