I see that SL is offering a bogo deal for new students. I'd like to take advantage of this, but I'd like for my son to have time to study for a month to get the most out of 2 classes. Does SL offer these deals often? Do you know how long they usually last?

not exactly sure to be honest, but as far as I know you should be able to enroll in two classes for a $49 fee and then pay $99 per month. so he can do them one after another.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :

That's weird. Here's their actual page that says it works...
Buy One Course Get One Course - StraighterLine
hrm. When I signed up for SL, several months ago, I had to actually email them asking them for a code. It was a pain cause it took a couple days and they kept sending me around. Some advisory sent me to someone, they said the marketing team is the one sends out emails with that info, then someone said to take their free trial. I THINK it was at the end of the free trial that I was sent an email, with that code in it, and link to that web page.
If I were you, I'd contact SL. Tell them the code on their webpage isn't working. They should be able to do something for you.

I know the code was working last month. Keep in mind that it only works for new SL students (only works with the first class taken), and you have to have a subscription as well as adding the class itself. It appears as a $49 credit after processing.

I had the same issue with code BGS310 when I subscribed with Straighterline earlier this week. I emailed them and explained that I was a new subscriber to straighterline, and had signed up to take advantage of their BGS310 promotion.
They replied right away with this response
Hi Max,
It appears that you have already enrolled in your monthly subscription which is why the promotion code is coming up invalid. The BGS310 code only applies to first time buyers. Since you have already purchased the subscription, our system thinks that you are a current student. Normally students buy the subscription with their first course.
I have asked our marketing department to provide us with a 1 -time use code for your course purchase.
*******
This will give you $49 off of your first course.
Hope this helps and have a nice day!
Thanks,
Gemma
From the message I got my guess is that the code is meant to be used when you subscribe, that is, have subscription and courses on the cart at time of purchase. If you email them then theyll likely provide a one-time use promo code for you.
Good luck!
