I recently decided to take a shot at a straighterline course, so I chose U.S. History 1. I was hoping that I could use a history book that I already have here at home, but I'm starting to think otherwise. I've read a few threads by different posters just how important it is to use the suggested books for straighterline courses. And I've been searching for the Unfinished Nation: A Concise History of the American People e-book, but many of the recommended websites are out of stock. Which is baffling to me. How can an "e-book" be out of stock? Lol. And the e-books which are available is a bit costly.
Is there anyone willing to share their copy or know of a place where I can find one reasonably priced?
I'm starting to think that I may have purchased this straighterline course a little too prematurely.... :-(

1DollarScan - Book Scanning Service does a great job of turning regular books into ebooks. I've used them for a ton of SL books with no issues.

Also, i'm not sure if you've seen this page,
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?...utput=html . I usually pull the ISBN from that link and find the used book on amazon for much cheaper than the new. I find that having the same edition helps significantly with testing at SL.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm so sorry to respond so late. I'm a first-time mom and still learning to adapt to these changes.
Soon after purchasing the U.S. History 1 course from straighterline I bought the physical copy of the required text-then quickly realized that it wasn't going to help. So, I eventually rented the e-book from coursesmart. Today I took the final exam and failed with a 67%.
Has anyone retaken a straighterline course with better results the second time? I'm just wondering if I should take it again, or just attempt another course......

Is this one of the courses where if you do not pass the final you fail the course? I thought that was only the psych course and they changed it back. As long as your overall score for the course is 70% or better you actually passed the course.
